Have Ghost 5, which is a great shoe, but lets too much of the Wisconsin winter in. GTX fits the same. Gore-tex is awesome and no wet, frozen toes on longer runs. I usually wear a 9.5 but in Brooks I wear a 10 and its recommended to size up 1/2 to 1 size. Try out at local shoe store so you know size before ordering.

Run on the grass in the park, great fit and they keep my feet dry! I have many miles on the pair I have now and they are still in pretty good shape except tread is wore down. Ordered (2) pair this time. An All Around GREAT shoe! Highly recommend.

Based on consumer feedback on the web I IM'd the Brooks staff and they recommended ordering these 1/2 size larger than my normal Ghost shoes. Did that and these are 1/2 size too large. Living with it! Still love the Ghost!

I love this shoe for running now that the weather is a little wetter and colder. In reading other reviews, I thought the heavier weight might be an issue but it wasn't. I generally run 5-6 miles 3-4 days a week and these are great shoes for keeping my feet warm and dry. Honestly, Brooks is the only way to go.

I'm totally pleased with these shoes. As a trail runner in the Pacific Northwest, waterproof can be a real plus. I found them very comfortable, with plenty of support for my needs. If I had to complain about something it would be that they ARE a little heavy feeling, so minimalist fans wouldn't like these very much. I didn't find them unpleasantly heavy, though. I put in a good 400 miles before I had to retire them, and aside from all the mud and dirt they still are in decent shape on the outside. Big thumbs up here.

I started running for the first time ever this Spring, at 48 years old and about 40 pounds overweight. I chose the Ghost GTX only because they were waterproof and black. After a month I thought I needed a flashier, hyper-light trainer, but was told by a salesperson at a running store my Ghosts were perfect for me and to stay with them. I didn't listen and bought something else anyway. I ran in them once and haven't run in anything other than my Ghosts since. Five months of five plus miles almost daily in all kinds of weather and they are still in great shape, as am I, now, thanks in part to this awesome shoe. Also of note I am a former semi-pro athlete who has worn the best equipment available, regardless of price and my everyday shoes are the Ravenna. I love those too.

I usually wear a 9.5 but in Brooks I wear a 10 and its recommended to size up 1/2 to 1 size. Try out at local shoe store so you know size before ordering.
