I have been a fan and user of Brooks running shoes and gear for years. This running shell is a poor quality piece of equipment. I am 6'4" 195 lbs. I bought the XL size as I like my running clothes loose. When it arrived it was way too small. Could barely get it on. Returned for the XXL size. I have NEVER bought XXL! This one I was able to get on but was still tight in the arms. I only had a thin microfiber shirt under it. Regardless I gave it a try on a 40 degree windy day. The shell does not cut the wind at all. The wind (and cold) go right through it. Can only imagine trying to wear it in a 20 degree day in upstate NY. Sorry, this does not perform as advertised, and is sized way off. I have returned and will try another brand. Again disappointed as in have always found Brooks to be my go to gear.

    great cold weather top

    2016/01/30 | Ann Arbor, MI |

For running in between 20F and 30F, this is a warm enough top to be worn on its own. Below 20F another, thinner, tech shirt under it is good down to 10-15F. Above 30F it's too warm for me. Fortunately, where I live, it's often below 30F in the winter, so it's perfect.
