Additional Information

Designed from the ground up, the Cascadia 7 defines what a trail shoe should be: rugged without sacrificing runnability. Infused with Brooks technology and a bit of insight from ultrarunner Scott Jurek, this amazing piece of equipment features an asymmetric upper that anatomically wraps the foot with conforming materials, a ballistic rock shield and toe protector for dicey terrain, and four-point pivot posts that act like a suspension system for your feet. Top it off with an intuitive lug pattern and this trailblazer is ready to tackle even the toughest terrain.

Please note: The Cascadia is intended as a trail running shoe. It is not pack-rated and may not hold up to the extra weight and demands of long pack hikes. We’re your go-to option for trail runs, but a sturdy hiking boot would be better suited for the Pacific Crest Trail, Appalachian Trail, or other long pack trips.

I have found that if I buy my running shoes about a size larger than my everyday work shoes they fit better. I have been wearing Brooks road and trail shoes exclusively for about four years and I buy them a size larger. That being said, I'm an ultra runner and put a lot of miles on my shoes and feet and am proud to say that I haven't lost a toenail because of my shoes. I love the Cascadias because I can put a new pair on straight out of the box, run 15 plus miles and not even worry about getting blisters or having to break them in. I love a new pair because they feel like fresh pillows for my feet as I run the trails. My Cascadias have also gotten me through some tough technical trails, I am so grateful as I'm running down hill through rocks that my shoes are gripping the ground so I can just fly. These are great shoes and I would recommend them for anyone running on trails!!

I was deeply surprised feeling the pain of the forefoot instep after 5 km trail run.
I gave these shoes my daughter, they are perfect for her (*****)! The only difference between us is the age and... the pace of running. My daugter's pace is 5:15 min/km, my pace is about 8 min/km. She runs bouncing off the heel, I bounce more the whole foot, because of the slower pace. Staying loyal to Brooks I have bought Adrenaline ASR and my problems with bruised forefoot disappeared. The Pure Cadence are also perfect for me, as I reviewed earlier. So, Cascadia 7 are perfect for runners who are speedy enough and able to use all these shoes' cushion impact

Cons

The shoes work really well on the trail portion of my jog/walk but a little slippery on the pavement part if it's wet. However, they are cool and comfortable shoes for a newbie like me!

I have put this shoe to the test! I run in this shoe all the time up and down steep slopes dodging rocks and holes. The tread is wearing slowly and the shoe is holding up great! The shoe is not ripping in the creases of where my foot bends and the rubber has not detached at all. I am just about to buy another pair while they are on sale. I have found the perfect shoe. Hopefully the others hold up like this pair.

I've been researching various trail running shoes for awhile, trying to decide if I really needed them or if I could get away with just wearing my normal running shoes. I finally took the plunge and I'm so glad I did. These are perfect for trail running. The traction and support is much better than typical running shoes. The only negative is these aren't great for gym use. I wore them on the treadmill and found them to be way too heavy and the traction to be a distraction, but for outdoor running they are the best!

My 4th edition of the Cascadias!

I've bought these shoes since the 4th edition and I can't get myself to wear any other trail running shoe. In the trail running community these shoes seem to be known as the 'gateway' shoe to trail running and for many, the competition shoe as well, even for those winning these crazy races. It can do it all and to me, that's a huge benefit. It feels like it's an extra safe guard for my ankles on crazy trail runs and I haven't had another shoe that does that for me. It also is stiff enough for rocks and roots but not so stiff you don't feel like your foot is getting a good feel for the ground beneath your feet. I love them and they're getting cuter every year!

love this shoe, but even if you untie the laces like you should to put them on it is tough to get them on and off. I like the brown they look good even with trail dirt on them. The rock shield is superb. I wouldn't use them for a lot of pavement activities as they are a real trail shoe.
