Our Runners Have Spoken
Keeps getting better and better!
I've had this jacket since ~late November 2017. The black one with reflective stripes, as seen in Runners World and mentioned by another reviewer. Based on reviews, at first I sized up, but the larger size was too big, so I changed for a smaller size, my usual size. Perfect. I'm 5'6" and weigh 130. Living in Seattle, I run a lot in the rain, distances from 4 miles to marathons. I have always stayed dry and warm. Most notably for the Seattle Marathon last November, when it was chilly/cold, rainy and windy/breezy almost the entire time, I wore this jacket over a few light tech layers (tank, long sleeve and light vest) and was delighted at how comfortable I was. In January, another marathon in FL where it started out exceptionally cold, in the 30s, but as the sun came out the temps warmed and I tied the jacket around my waist -- the jacket is so light weight that I hardly knew it was there. Seattle in winter is often gray and rainy without a lot of light. I feel good about the reflective striping being seen when it needs to be seen, e.g., when cars or bicycles with lights are coming towards me or up from behind me. I run on sidewalks and urban trails, but street crossings do occur. Two other positives: (1) the fabric does not rustle and (2) the hood stays up and in place even in the wind/rain and turns with my head so I can see wherever I'm looking, which is a first for any running jacket I've had including previous ones from Brooks. Would buy again, but the quality is so high that I probably won't need to for a while. Read MoreSizing | Feels true to size |
Worth it!
I needed a coat to wear when running in the Spring in the Northeast. Temps can range from 60 degrees to 25 and snow/rain from day to day and I came across this as an option. Because I love Brooks, I decided to bite the bullet and spend the money on it. When I opened it, I was surprised at how thin it was. I mean, paper thin and thought that I had made a mistake, but the first 5K I did with this on I was sold. It was warm and water resistant through the run and the wind did not cut through it at all. It was about 37 and very windy that day and this handled nicely. Since then, I have done 2 more races and one was an obstacle and this coat stayed put over walls and on the monkey bars. Highly recommend! Read MoreSizing | Feels true to size |
Really Sweet Reflective Running Jacket
5'7, 140lbs (with broad shoulders) and I got a medium. A bit loose on me everywhere but my shoulders. I run primarily at night, so I got the black jacket with reflective strips, as featured in Runner's world. It actually does look as cool as the pictures when you are in a bright flash! It's nice and waterproof (important for me as I run in Pittsburgh where it's always raining). My one complaint is that the sleeves are a tad short for me, so using the thumb holes isn't the most comfortable. But other than that, I love it! #ReviewSweeps Read MoreSizing | Feels true to size |
Jacket does its job!
Do not be fooled by the thinness of this jacket. I was running in 45-degrees and light rain with a Distance Long Sleeve underneath, and I was slightly overheated. Would rather of had on just a tank underneath the jacket. At 5'4, 132lbs, the Medium fit perfect with just enough room for a light long sleeve. Hood is in a great location and doesn't shift backward even when my pony tail is moving around. Got the green green-blue color and LOVE it. Read MoreSizing | Feels true to size |
I love this jacket
I've been looking for a lightweight jacket for running for a long time. My regular size fit but was very fitted so I decided to go up a size. I prefer my jackets to be loose. I took it on a few Seattle rainy runs recently and couldn't be happier. It breathed well but kept me dry. My shirt was totally dry minus sweat! I like that it's light enough to tie around my waist when I'm hot or stuff in my running backpack. I really love this jacket! Read MoreSizing | Feels half size too small |
