This has become my go to running shoe

After years of trying different brands and styles, this shoe has become my glass slipper.

Best ride for me!

Moving to the Transcend was the right choice for me and the model just keeps getting better. Transcend 5 corrects my pronation seamlessly which helps my hips stay aligned. The comfort is a 10 out of 10 and even as a stability support system Transcend 5 still feels light on my ride. Only thing I would ask is to come out with a more subtle color in 6!

Great shoe

These shoes are great! There was no break in time. I put them on right out of the box and haven't looked back. They are comfortable. I have minor back problems and this brand was recommended by the physical therapist and I've been wearing Brooks for three years now.

I prefer the fit of the 4 over the 5

The Transcend 5 is a bit narrower in toe box and a bit shorter than the Transcend 4. It also has less cushion and less support on the toe box - very stretchy in toe box and could allow my foot to roll out. The heel collar is not as secure as the 4. I walk 5-7 miles daily. I have plantar fasciitis, Morton Neuroma, and only 10% function in my big toe. The 4 was crazy good for not allowing my…

The 4 was crazy good for not allowing my forefoot to roll to outside, could spread my toes and amazing cushion. I have been wearing the 5 every other day for about 2 weeks and my feet are very tired at the end of the day when I wear the 5. I am so disappointed as it has become very difficult to find a shoe that works. I also wear RX orthotics. The 5 is a great looking shoe and I get many compliments. I love the shape of it over the 4. I wore Asics GT2000 for years, but the same thing happened...the newer model was too tight in toe box, shorter and less cushion. To size up does not work as I end up with slop in the heel and have less stability on gravel or rocky areas. I would recommend this shoe but not to someone needing wider toe box and cush or if you under pronate any at all you may have a problem. Read More

The best shoe!

I have been wearing Brooks for as long as I can recall and the Transcend have been the best shoe for me. I put about 600 miles on my shoes every three months and these wear so well. I have not found a better stability or cushioning shoe. I loved the Transcend 4's, but the slight changes to the 5's made an excellent shoe even better.

Hi! I hope this message finds you well! How does the Transend compare to the Glycerin? That is the shoe I was recommended and have been wearing for years. This shoe really looks cool, but I'm not sure if it would support my foot in the same way. Take care, Candace

Hi Candace, The Transcend is a high cushioned shoe like the Glycerin. The Transcend is intended with its guide rails to keep your alignment centered and knee motion in check. This could be a good fit for you if you need this kind of support! Read More

Earlier I asked this same question, but referenced the wrong shoe. So here is the revised question. I do overpronate mildly. I've always worn adrenaline GTS, but haven't ran over a year due to a a meniscus tear surgery. Now I'm looking for more cushion. How does the transcend compare to the ariel? What would have the most support and cushion

Hi Stacy, The Glycerin is a neutral shoe and the Transcend/Ariel are both support shoes. Support shoes help with pronation which neutral shoes do not. As far as "support" and cushion goes the Ariel would have more support and cushion. -Brooks Running Read More

Is there a removable sole to accommodate orthotics? I have pronation.

2018/03/09 ME Kathryn

All Brooks Models have removable insoles. We recommend the Dyad 9 for custom orthodontics. Brooks Running

I normally wear the Adrenalines. I've worn them from the 13s up to the 16s and am trying to decide whether to get the 17s or get the Transcend 5! The reviews are great so I was hoping this shoe was pretty comparable to my Adrenalines. I love my Adrenalines and they are the only shoes that have helped me over the years in running and in half marathons. I also run on both the treadmill and the road. Thanks!
