Additional Information

Live large with the luxurious ride of the Trance 12. This shoe has a taste for the finer technologies in life, like a Segmented Crash Pad that articulates the midsole for a perfectly smooth heel-to-toe transition. We moved the heel counter to the outside of the shoe for even more interior comfort, plus built-in bootie-like design for a silky feel. This shoe is so plush that, pretty soon, it will be on an episode of MTv® Cribs.

I have been an ASICS girl for a long time. I went to a store to get fitted for the right shoe, and she brought me as ASICS that would work, but asked me to try the Brooks. The difference was appreciable enough for me to buy the Brooks Trance 12! They stabilize my foot (I strike on the outside and roll in) so I have no hip pain after a run now.
I have read some comments about poor wear, but I have not had them long enough to make that determination.
They are my new shoe of choice! My Dad started running a very loooong time ago, and Brooks were what he wore. I like that aspect too :) He would love the shoe choices available now - weren't as many when he was here.

I absolutely love these shoes, except that they wore through the material on the right shoes, where your ankle enters the shoe. I thought maybe my ankle was wearing it down, but I've watched my gait/stride, and my ankle doesn't wear it down. So disappointed because these are EXTREMELY comfortable and great shoes! Unfortunately, I have to return them.

I ran for years in Brooks Addiction, but had knee problems. A physical therapist suggested I try a lighter, less rigid shoe. Two years ago I tried the Trance 11 and loved it. I find the Trance 12 to be just as comfortable, and now my knees are happy. I'm on my fourth pair of Brooks Trance shoes.

I LOVE these shoes! I had to test run 3 different pairs of shoes before I found this perfect shoe. I've put 230 miles on these and would love to get another pair. Brooks PLEASE continue to make the TRANCE shoes!!!!!!!!! I've tried other Brooks "stability plus" category shoes and they just don't compare to TRANCE,with regards to stability and support. Bring back the TRANCE!

This specific model was recommended by my podiatrist. I have plantar facitis and heel spurs. These were considered good support for this issue in conjunction with my custom inserts.

I have been a Saucony girl for a long time. I run about 35-40miles per week with poor condition of my feet. Early this year my company invited special guest speaker at manager meeting from Brook Co. I got discount coupon from the speaker, so I ordered the Trance 12 online. I'm so happy to found the right shoe for me. I got few more pairs after that. with that shoe I qualify to go Boston Marathon in 2014 and 2015.

            I like Trance 11 better

              Best Uses

I used to have Trance 11 as my favorite shoes but my feet got bigger so that pair of Trance 11 don't fit me more. So I went to the store to try Trance 12 but they don't have wide or extra wide width. But I tried them on anyway. The sole of Trance 12 doesn't feel as comfortable as Trance 11. It's too stiff on Trance 12. And I feel pain at my knee and my ankle right away when I was only trying couple steps in the store. So, I didn't end up buying Trance 12 at the end. I miss Trance 11. I read a reviewer saying that Trance will be replaced by another model. I hope the new model will not have the bads of Trance 12, and have the goods of Trance 11 and hopefully more. And hopefully there will be extra wide width available for the new model too.

I run about 20-30 miles on the road per week. I love the guidance and the shoe makes your feel roll very easily. I started running on these when I had shin splints and they are gone now while I started running longer distances.
Flip side of the pronation is that the shoe wears out pretty quickly, but I'd still recommend them because they are so comfortable.

I have been running for 4 years now and have been fitted for many different running shoes. My Brooks Trance are by far the best I have found. I know that is personal preference however I will never ever stray. Blessed with weak ankles and flatter feet I have fought my battles with injury. Once I switched to Brooks, I successfully trained and completed 2 half marathons and 1 marathon without an ounce of injury pain.

I always come back to this shoe when I want to pick something for marathon training. The comfort and cushioning can't be matched by anything else I've tried. They are a bit heavy for shorter distance running, so I usually pick a different shoe for that. I find the fit very comfortable. Toe box is not too narrow and heel is not too large.

I'm sad that the Trance is phasing out and will be replaced by the Transcend soon, because these have been fabulous shoes for this overpronator. They helped me through my very first 1/2 marathon and beyond.
