Additional Information

Chrissie calls the T7 "an amazing shoe!" She was rocking a pair when she came from behind on the run leg to win her fourth Ironman World Championship in Kona in 2011.

This incredibly light road-racing shoe is the fastest in the pack, with a new eye-catching upper for fly-by style. The streamlined, asymmetric upper works with the anatomy of the foot to perfectly wrap the arch securely from start to finish.

Available in men's sizes only. For women we suggest ordering 1.5 sizes smaller than what you usually wear. If you're curious, Chrissie wears a 10.

Note: As this shoe is a very lightweight, minimal support racing flat, the vast majority of runners will not find it "enough shoe" for a full marathon. If you have a light frame and a biomechanically efficient stride, however, you may be able to get away with it. We suggest you work up to it in several half marathon-plus races beforehand to see how it works for you before running in it for a full marathon.

Bought this shoe a few months back for my 2011 racing season. In word one, AMAZING! This is by far the lightest, most comfortable racing flat I have ever owned! If you are racing distances from half marathon on down, buy this shoe (Just make sure to get a half size smaller than your everyday training shoes).

i got my t7's at my local running store and right off the bat I enjoyed every bit of them besides the side lacing which I quickly grew a custom to.they were my trainers for the track season and they were working fine. like all of my running shoes they got dirty, and sometimes very smelly which as a 15 year old boy i had no problem with. but then at one of my track meets my club coach whom im very close to told me about some cases of runners buying the T7's and only lasting them a month, which at first i didnt believe. then track season ended and i started running my longer distances training for the upcoming xc season and i soon figured out that what my coach said was true. and I felt pushed away from the T7 and to another shoe. i might of gotten a bad batch or something but id like to figure out what went wrong.

T7 racer review (not as good as the old

By fastrunner54

Pros

  • Comfortable
  • Lightweight

Cons

  • Poor Traction

Best Uses

  • Dry Weather

Comments about T7 Racer:

Bought this since I had previously used the T3 racer with great satisfaction. This version seems like technology has gone in reverse as I like the feel of the older model much better. Shoe feels a lot stiffer at first and heavier.

    Comments about T7 Racer:

I bought these shoes for a race, and I hit a PR with them right out of the box! Super lightweight, good traction, and as I've come to expect with Brooks, no need to worry about a "break-in" period. Just lace up and go.

      Comments about T7 Racer:

I bought these to replace the shoes I did the Chicago Marathon 2013 in. I couldn't be more pleased! These are my 3rd pair of Brooks, I like more of a lower drop minimal feel. I need to feel the road under me. These are thin enough in the heel to land with a correct stride but if you heel strike it wouldn't hurt too much I don't think...I don't heel strike but that is my assumption!

      Bring Back the T6 Please

      Comments about T7 Racer:

The T6 was the best shoe Brooks ever made. Lightweight, responsive and comfortable. I bought the last 9 pairs in my size and wore them all out. Then I got the T7 and as hugely disappointed. Poor craftsmanship, lower quality materials and they are UGLY. Please bring back the T6 or make the T8 more like the T6 than the T7. Thank you!

        Comments about T7 Racer:

Have 3 pairs in the 3 colors. What's great about the colors is they match the different racing running apparel. I get more compliments and inquiries about the entire "look." I sure wish I had these in my younger years!

I have raced in these from 5k to the half marathon. I did a couple of 20 milers in these, but I found my toes seem to feel tired. It could be from being a forefoot runner. For someone who "sits back" a little more, they may be able to use them for a marathon.

You WILL have to order a half size up. I am a consistent 10 (mens) in all Brooks shoes. In the T7's, I am a 10.5 on all 3 pairs.

        Comments about T7 Racer:

The T7 is an awesome racing flat! I have been using it for the past 2-3 years (before that used the T6) for all 5k's and 10k's including sprint and Olympic distance triathlons. Depending on your body and running efficiency, you may or may not want to run longer distances in this shoe. I personally am a sub 35 min 10k runner and 175 pounds and this shoe is borderline too light/not enough shoe for me at the half marathon distance and definitely not a full marathon shoe unless you are an incredibly efficient runner. For a racing flat, I think the shoe is pretty durable and holds up well! I typically wear an 11.5 in other Brooks shoes but wear a 12 in the T7.

Sizing was tricky. I ended up ordering 1 size down from my usual show size. I am size 6-6.5 depending on the shoe and I ended up with a 5.5 in this line. Overall the shoe has a smug fit and lightweight which is great.

          Comments about T7 Racer:

I use the T7 racer in my weekly workouts on Wednesday's and Saturdays- once on a cinder track and once on the pavement- each week. The shoes are extremely comfortable, very lightweight, and cushioned as well! The only complaint that I have about the shoe is that I feel there is not quite enough stability and responsiveness to run a full marathon in these racers, but I also feel that the Pure Project is a little too heavy. Nonetheless, these shoes are a must have for all competitive runners.
