Minimalists delight in the Racer ST 5, with just the right touch of support. The shoe is super lightweight for racing – from a 5K to a marathon -- but has the substance and durability required for tempo runs and training. With an upgrade to the resilient, long-lasting cushioning of BioMoGo, your feet will stay protected and your legs fresh, mile after mile. And, yes, these running shoes are bright – you’ll be a blur when you speed down the road.
Available in men’s sizes only. (For women we suggest ordering 1.5 sizes smaller than what you usually wear.)

I bought my first pair of ST5's for short races when I was used to bulkier shoes, compared to which they seem like racing flats. When I moved to real racing flats, the ST5's became my speed workout shoes. Later still I started using them primarily for tempo runs. Now I'm on my second pair and use them for tempos and longer races (20k to marathon). I normally prefer a lower heel drop, but I appreciate the bigger heel when running faster and the extra support (without extra weight) in later miles. In my opinion these are superior to the Pure Flows, which feel clunkier at tempo pace. I often use Pure Flow's for slower, easy running because of the lower heel and reserve my ST5's for faster stuff.

Nice, just not for my foot.

Walking around my office, they were comfortable.
First jog, they were light as a feather and great.

Walking around my office, they were comfortable.
First jog, they were light as a feather and great.
Second jog, my arches didn't seem like they were getting support.
Third jog, I had to quit half a mile in and walk back to the truck with my arches in pain, to put on my old Asics to complete my 3 miles.

I wear this shoe during cross-fit type work outs; to do my daily 2 milers; and also occasionally wear to work. They are comfortable.

          Comments about Racer ST 5:

This shoe is fantastic. This is my first pair of lightweight shoes and after the first run just fell in love with them. I rotate between these and my supports (GTS15) and i love how light they are. It feels as if you are running without anything on your feet. It's light and transitions well. Very flexibile and not stiff and I love the little added support for a mild pronater like me. Would love to make this my marathon shoe here in the future. Not really any cons with this shoe, the only thing that takes some getting used to is feeling everything on the road, but then again they are pretty close to racing flats so what do you expect.

I ran a 4 mile trial run to break these shoes in. Of course they feel different from the shoes I've grown accustomed to over the past 3 years, but I knew I was on to something. I then competed in a local 5K. In only the second time out in these shoes, I not only set a PR, but I also won my division! That's what I call putting your money where your mouth is! Thanks Brooks!
