By far the best trail shoe!!

First run was a trail half marathon and the shoes were amazing. Good feel for the trail and very comfortable. Not as cushioned as the Caldera and for me that was a good thing. I bought two more pair after that first race.

Great Winter Shoe

I am a zero drop runner with a wide mid-foot and high arch. A nightmare for shoes. I typically run in Altra's for this reason, as their toe box facilitates my awkward foot, and I run with a natural gait and forefoot strike. I typically stick to more minimal shoes. When looking for a winter trail shoe for packed show trails and single track, I tried the PureGrit 6 on due to the low drop, and…

I am a zero drop runner with a wide mid-foot and high arch. A nightmare for shoes. I typically run in Altra's for this reason, as their toe box facilitates my awkward foot, and I run with a natural gait and forefoot strike. I typically stick to more minimal shoes. When looking for a winter trail shoe for packed show trails and single track, I tried the PureGrit 6 on due to the low drop, and "wide" look confirmed by the D fit of the shoe. And trust me, it is a true D. This coming from someone with a fat foot that struggles finding wide enough. I am 100KMs in and love the PureGrit 6. I feel no pressure on my arch which typically doesn't allow me to tighten laces down in the top two holes. The sock-like fit of the tongue is very comfortable and cozy without any arch pressure. The width of the midfoot doesn't pinch my fat foot like most shoes giving the shoe a true D fit, and the toe box leaves plenty of room for my duck foot. The low profile allows the shoe to still feel reasonably responsive on hard pack, or paved roads to get to and from the trails. There is no shredding of material in the heel (typically an issue for me), and thus far the traction the sole provides has been very good. Again, I'm running on mixed use trails and single track without a lot of loose snow. Just a hard snowpack on top. I've got all the grip and control I need for easy miles all winter. Read More

Not as Good as They Used to be

I bought these shoes a couple years ago and LOVED them. I should have stocked up on them then. I am a female, but like the feel of these men's shoes better. This newer addition doesn't fit the same. The bottoms of my feet get sore and tired when wearing them. The previous generation of this shoe was perfect for my feet so I had very high expectations.
