Additional Information

Pick a line, trust your shoes, and run absolutely wild. It’s as simple as that in the completely redesigned PureGrit 3 trail running shoe for women. Taking a cue from the mad grip of climbing shoes, this lightweight runner connects you to the terrain as it responds and protects you from its tricky elements. An outsole peppered with hex lugs delivers maximum grip, while a ballistic rock shield protects your foot from rocks and roots on the trail. A toe guard provides protection and added traction when the trail gets steep.

Just like our core line, we hold PureProject to the industry’s highest weartest and durability standards. Because of their lightweight construction and fewer materials, runners should generally expect shoes from the PureProject line to last approximately 250-300 miles.

These shoes are a good upgrade from the 2's. I've been running in my 2's for almost a year now and, while they are a fun and lightweight ride, they are really not suited for any trail with rocks or roots. Even after just a few miles my feet would be trashed. The 3's really have changed that. They borrow from the other Pure shoes a bit more which keeps them light but also gives a lot more needed cushioning (the PureCadence is my favorite shoe). My first run with them was a trail that I could just not do in my 2's and it felt amazing! Hoping the price comes down a bit before I want my second pair!

I have been looking for a trail shoe that would not irritate my feet after having severe plantar fasciitis for over 2 years and I have finally found it! I wear Pure Cadences on roads and these feel very similar to me. The traction is great. I have worn them on some pretty rough trails and they performed great! I like them so much I want a 2nd pair.

As to date, there is only 1 color to choose from though. More colors in this awesome shoe please!

          Too much shoe

I bought the original Pure Grit last year and loved it, I was hoping the third edition would be an improvement to an amazing shoe but sadly, it was not. There is much more shoe than before and the extra cushioning is unneeded in my opinion. If I wanted more shoe I wouldn't be buying from the Pure collection. I am definitely returning these. Another strange occurrence, my socks kept getting pulled down, sounds silly but supper annoying and I tried three different pairs of differing lengths all with the same outcome. I loved the original PureGrit, I wish I could have stock piled my closet with them.

              Sturdier than Pure Connect

I've worn all three versions of the PureConnect model. Overall, they were wonderful, wonderful for running, but I got frustrated with how quickly the outsoles wore down and how slippery the soles were. I almost killed myself walking down wooden stairs in the rain once. Even though I don't run trails, I went with the PureGrit this time in an attempt to redress these two issues. The soles have much better traction, I'm happy to say, and look like they will be more durable. They have a slightly blockier feel to them, but that's the sacrifice for the different design of the sole. They're still light enough and have the same great fit.
I'm also happy to say that the sizing issues with the Pure series have been addressed: the 2's ran small; when I sized up with the 3's they were huge. I ordered my regular size this time, and they're exactly right. Goldilocks would be pleased.
