Additional Information

Neutral to Guidance runners can experience a run for the senses without losing the comfort of dynamic cushioning. The PureFlow brings a little more shoe and a whole lot of technology to a slick aesthetic. With a wider Nav Band coming up the lateral side and grabbing the midsole, the foot receives arch support without the bulkiness of underfoot materials. A center strike pod provides guidance in finding the natural landing zone, and modern air mesh wraps the foot for an incredibly comfortable fit.

Runner's World named the PureFlow its "Best Buy" in the Spring Shoe Guide in their March 2012 issue, calling it "a lightweight yet durable shoe that's a steal at its price point" and adding that 80 percent of their testers with normal arches and efficient biomechanics "gave the flow their highest-possible performance rating."

Just like our core line, we hold PureProject to the industry’s highest weartest and durability standards. Because of their lightweight construction and fewer materials, runners should generally expect shoes from the PureProject line to last approximately 250-300 miles.

This is an update to my earlier review. I really, really like this shoe, but there is one spot where the shoe rubs. The overlay that runs over the toes meets an overlay that comes down from the laces and they overlap right over my outer toe, the one next to the pinky. At first I thought it was the toe seam of my sock, but I was wearing seamless socks. I tried lacing them differently (skipping a crossover nearest the toes) and that helps some. If the two overlays were one continuous piece (instead of overlapping), I think that would solve the problem.

Love the new colors! And I like the "lumpy" laces -- feel like they will stay tied forever.

The sole of this shoe is very flexible and cushions well, especially for the weight (light). They are quite suitable for long (20+ miles) runs if you are a reasonably stong and efficient runner. They may not have enough support or cushioning if you tend to break down after 10 miles or so. I have not put enough mileage on them to comment on durability, but after ~100 miles, they seem to be holding up well.
The upper is where I run into problems with this shoe... The little plastic bands that wrap around the toe-box and up to the laces hits me right outside my pinky toe and right on the outside of my big toe knuckle. They rub like a narrow shoe, but they fit average to wide. These bands really have to go - just get rid of them altogether and leave nothing but fabric around the toe-box.
My next issue is the elastic band across the tongue. It feels great at first, then stretches out quickly and interferes with lacing the shoe to desired tightness. The tongue then slips and slides around when running. This band might be better used to hold the tongue on each side, still providing the mid-foot support.
The mesh is also fairly thick, and does not breath as well as some other shoes.
All in all, a good shoe - excellent sole for an efficient runner, but the upper needs some work.

I have ben a runner for many years. i average 30-40 miles per week. I started having tendonitis problems in my knees about 2 years ago. A shoe specialist suggested I try a flatter bed shoe as the higher cushioned heel throws your weight forward. This puts stress on the knee. You may not believe this but my knee problems corrected themselves right away. Not only did the pain go away, I have trained harder and for longer distances ever since. I love these shoes and will wear them as long as they continue to make them.

I have had these shoes for about 2 weeks. I was able to start jogging in them without breaking them in first. I have mainly used them on a treadmill and so far, so good! Excellent shoe for the price!
