PureFlow Line Has Lost It's Way

I waited to post a review on my PureFlow 6s to see what Brooks did with the 7. I can safely say that Brooks has failed. The 4 was the last good shoe in the PureFlow line. The 5 was, without exaggeration, the worst show I have ever run in and started causing me hip problems. I had to abandon it around the 100 mile mark. I have run in every Pure Flow since version 1. I had hopes that the 6 would redeem to failure of the 5 but it did not. I love the upper, but that is all. The sole is way too hard and I have lost the "feel" for the road that 1 through 4 offered. It is very slappy on the pavement and doesn't feel as good. Also, it picks up rocks bad. Sometimes I have to stop my run to remove them if I can feel them through the shoe. I always have to clean rocks out once I get home. Being a road runner in Colorado means that you'll still be on some gravel trails, so its really not avoidable. With all these issues, I made it about 200 miles into my 6s, then decided to try the Anthem. It's OK, but still not as good as the 4. After the 5 and 6 failures, I anxiously awaited the 7 to see if Brooks would address the issues. However, it appears they did not change the sole and only changed the upper. So, after a lot of years in Brooks, I had to make a decision and that was to move to another brand. And that makes me sad. Read More

Great mid to long distance training shoe

Not as fast feeling as my Brooks Launch but a great training shoe! Absorbs impact better than the launch for less fatigue while training. Switching to my Launch for race days provides an additional "kick" for competition.

MISLEADING

I emailed brooks asking g then which shoes were the closest to my older brooks pure connect. In the response from brooks they told me pure flow is almost the same. This was untrue! Pure flow are rigid and hurt my low arch. Not at all the same. I am very disappointed with brooks for misleading me. Since the. I returned the shoes and bought another brand. Bring back PURECONNECT!!

What is the stack height - heel and toe - of the pureflow 6 and 7? I wish you gave more details on the web. What is the composition of the outsole?

2018/02/08 santa barbara, ca michael

Hi Michael! They are both 24mm (Heel) and 20mm (Forefoot). The outsole is made of a high abrasive EVA! Brooks Running

I ordered this shoe about a month ago and now the price is cut by $25. Can you guys give me a refund of the difference? I'm still within the 90 day window so technically I could return them and buy them again, but I'd prefer not to do that you.

With all things being average (height, weight, footstrike, gait), what is the total amount of road mileage that people are getting out of these shoes?

2017/12/12 New York, NY AT

We typically see between 300-500 miles or 4-6 months of use from all brooks shoes.

I have a wide foot and a high instep. Will this shoe fit?
