Additional Information

Embrace lightweight without losing cushion in the get-up-and-go women's PureFlow 3. We've fine-tuned features like a more rounded heel, sculpted the medial side while integrating a wider Nav Band, and repositioned the Toe Flex to better align your stride. So all you feel is the sweet cushion in your running shoes, and all you need is the open road.

We’re not the only people going with the Flow: Runner’s World Magazine named the PureFlow 3 its "Best Update" in their March 2014 issue. The editors praised new design for its smoother landing, more flexibility in the forefoot, and improved fit; calling the PureFlow 3 "a bargain-priced trainer that handles a lot of miles."

Just like our core line, we hold PureProject to the industry’s highest weartest and durability standards. Because of their lightweight construction and fewer materials, runners should generally expect shoes from the PureProject line to last approximately 250-300 miles.

I'm a big fan of the Pureflow 2. So when these came out, I was due for new running shoes and purchased these. I just received them so I have not run in them.

However out of the box, the first thing I noticed is the color is not as pictured. The shoe is black (not charcoal), with fushia accents, and a very dark silver sole (not white). To be honest, I probably would not have purchased this (or at least this color) had I known it was black.

The toe box also feels tighter both in width and height. I really like the roomier toe box and that is why I preferred the pureflows over the other pure project models.

I will post more after a few runs, but I'm undecided about the shoes from first impressions.

I have been a marathoner for years, and recently switched to triathlons, training for Ironman this summer. I have been a Brooks lover for all those years, especially when the PureFlows came out, I finally could run pain free and my times were much faster than with previous shoes. I LOVE the PureFlow 2's and have bought almost 6 pairs of them in the past 1.5 years. The changes made to the PureFlow 3's are ridiculous. This is an almost minimal shoe, lightweight, made for mid-foot striking. WHY WOULD YOU CHANGE IT TO A NARROWER sole for people who have all the impact mid-foot!? I am disgusted by the 3's and hope that Brooks re-thinks their PureFlow design. Who tests these shoes? If you are mid-foot striker then a wider base is ideal. Making a narrower shoe is counter-intuitive. I hope Brooks goes back to the PureFlow 2 base, otherwise once I can't find the 2's I'm looking for another brand.

Best Uses

  • Dry Weather

Comments about PureFlow 3:

I loved the Pure Connect 2 but with the changes in the Pure Connect 3, the overlays and the size of the shoe caused rubbing near my little toe. I decided to try the Pure Flow 3 and I found that I needed to purchase a half size larger. I just recently purchased them so I can not speak for durability and wear but I have found it to be a very comfortable running shoe both on the treadmill and outdoors. I don't love all of the overlays in this shoe and I wish the arch was just a bit higher (like the Pure Connect 2) but it has been a great shoe thus far.

Comments about PureFlow 3:

I was advised by local store that these would make great zumba shoes and they felt really good to walk around him, however in acutal class because of the extra padding on outside of soles they throw me off balance. If i could return i would, not a zumba shoe

Took about 50 miles to break in

        Comments about PureFlow 3:

LOVED my pure flow 2 so when my knees started aching and I knew I needed new shoes I went straight to the pure flow again! So sad when they came (I bought 2 pair) and they pinched the side of my toe where the shoe bends and creases. I didn't want to take them back because i knew I loved my last ones so much. It took a long while but they did break in and my toe stopped hurting. But it was NOT worth it. I even had to take off my shoes on one run because I couldn't stand the pain. Won't buy again unless they go back to the old style. PLEASE GO BACK!

          Comments about PureFlow 3:

Since the Brooks Pure line debuted, I have owned five pairs, which I loved. I was due for a new pair in Aug. 2014 and purchased the Pure Flow 3s at my local running store. They're beautiful, but OMG, they are too narrow. And my feet are on the narrow side of average! They pinch the side of my foot to the point that I started unconsciously altering my form. Boo! I wish I could get a refund, but I've probably put about 100 miles on these shoes, trying to break them in.

            Comments about PureFlow 3:

The Pureflow 3 saved my feet! I work at a school and am on my feet all day walking on hard concrete-like tile. I had somehow acquired plantar fasciitis as well and had suffered with it for over a year. I had never heard of the Brooks brand ... but I am now SOLD!! The first time I put these shoes on my feet swear I heard angels sing! My feet were in heaven!! I now have THREE pair of these wondrous shoes and wear them daily! Love them and definitely recommend to anyone suffering from tired, achy feet. Oh ... and one other bonus ... I had to see a podiatrist about the PF, and he said these were great shoes with good support around my foot and under it! I was instructed to wear them daily ... and I will gladly oblige!! (He had never heard of them either so he has no affiliation with this company!) Thank you Brooks ... please don't change anything ... but maybe you could add some more cute color combos!
