Additional Information

Embrace lightweight without losing cushion in the get-up-and-go women's PureFlow 3. We've fine-tuned features like a more rounded heel, sculpted the medial side while integrating a wider Nav Band, and repositioned the Toe Flex to better align your stride. So all you feel is the sweet cushion in your running shoes, and all you need is the open road.

We’re not the only people going with the Flow: Runner’s World Magazine named the PureFlow 3 its "Best Update" in their March 2014 issue. The editors praised new design for its smoother landing, more flexibility in the forefoot, and improved fit; calling the PureFlow 3 "a bargain-priced trainer that handles a lot of miles."

Just like our core line, we hold PureProject to the industry’s highest weartest and durability standards. Because of their lightweight construction and fewer materials, runners should generally expect shoes from the PureProject line to last approximately 250-300 miles.

I'm a big fan of the Pureflow 2. So when these came out, I was due for new running shoes and purchased these. I just received them so I have not run in them.

However out of the box, the first thing I noticed is the color is not as pictured. The shoe is black (not charcoal), with fushia accents, and a very dark silver sole (not white). To be honest, I probably would not have purchased this (or at least this color) had I known it was black.

The toe box also feels tighter both in width and height. I really like the roomier toe box and that is why I preferred the pureflows over the other pure project models.

I will post more after a few runs, but I'm undecided about the shoes from first impressions.

I have been a marathoner for years, and recently switched to triathlons, training for Ironman this summer. I have been a Brooks lover for all those years, especially when the PureFlows came out, I finally could run pain free and my times were much faster than with previous shoes. I LOVE the PureFlow 2's and have bought almost 6 pairs of them in the past 1.5 years. The changes made to the PureFlow 3's are ridiculous. This is an almost minimal shoe, lightweight, made for mid-foot striking. WHY WOULD YOU CHANGE IT TO A NARROWER sole for people who have all the impact mid-foot!? I am disgusted by the 3's and hope that Brooks re-thinks their PureFlow design. Who tests these shoes? If you are mid-foot striker then a wider base is ideal. Making a narrower shoe is counter-intuitive. I hope Brooks goes back to the PureFlow 2 base, otherwise once I can't find the 2's I'm looking for another brand.

      Comments about PureFlow 3:

Since I've started training for my first half marathon, I decided I needed some real running shoes made for runners. Brooks came highly recommended and I've been thrilled with my purchase. I received them on a Wednesday and ran a 5k on a trail with them Saturday. The support is fantastic and they're so light! They even have great traction so I felt safe running downhill on a rocky and muddy trail even after it rained the night before the race. The only downside is the lack of colors. Maybe I've been reading too much Jezebel, but it really bothers me that pink is such a dominating women's workout apparel color. It's obvious I'm a girl from my long ponytail and clothing choices, so do I really need to have hot pink running shoes? Lots of girls like yellow, blue, orange, even purple, why pigeon hole us into the pink side of the color spectrum? I would have loved the red and black ones that are available in the men's PureFlow 3. Regardless, these shoes are fantastic and I love them more each time I go for a run.

        Comments about PureFlow 3:

I like the fit and look of the Pure Flow 2. I am not a fan of the WHITE soles. Love a darker sole, like the grey. The Flow 3 has an area in the toe box that bends into a fold and presses onto the top of the foot. I kept the shoe with the hopes that this would go away after breaking them in. With the Pure Flow 2s, I never had to break them in. Brooks! Please go back to the Pure Flow 2!

        Comments about PureFlow 3:

I've owned PureFlow 1's, 2's, and now 3's. I really liked the 2's and the upgrades to the 3's looked promising. However, as others have mentioned, these are noticeably more narrow than previous models. My feet have less freedom of movement and overall comfort. Additionally, I experienced chafing on the tops of my feet, near the topmost inner eyelets from my first run. I now have just over 50 miles in the shoes, and the chafing has subsided. I'm hoping they will loosen up some too, but that remains to be seen.
On the pro side, they are well cushioned and responsive and can go for nice long distances while leaving the legs feeling ready for more.

        Comments about PureFlow 3:

I run anywhere from 30-45 miles a week, and these shoes are my go to running shoe for training. They are comfortable, light, and are great for long runs, or short track workouts. However, they seem to wear quickly-- I will probably have to get new ones after about 400 miles. Other than the wearing of the shoe, it is fantastic! I highly recommend the Brooks PureFlow 3!
