Women's PureFlow 3

$100.00 $65.00

Style #120155

Embrace lightweight without losing cushion in the get-up-and-go women's PureFlow 3. We've fine-tuned features like a more rounded heel, sculpted the medial side while integrating a wider Nav Band, and repositioned the Toe Flex to better align your stride. So all you feel is the sweet cushion in your running shoes, and all you need is the open road.

We’re not the only people going with the Flow: Runner’s World Magazine named the PureFlow 3 its "Best Update" in their March 2014 issue. The editors praised new design for its smoother landing, more flexibility in the forefoot, and improved fit; calling the PureFlow 3 "a bargain-priced trainer that handles a lot of miles."

Just like our core line, we hold PureProject to the industry’s highest weartest and durability standards. Because of their lightweight construction and fewer materials, runners should generally expect shoes from the PureProject line to last approximately 250-300 miles.

DNA Midsole

What is it?

Brooks DNA is an innovative and uniquely adaptive cushioning system. By adapting to your specific weight, pace, gait and running surface, DNA offers customized cushioning and adds a spring to your step.

Traditional cushioning takes a one-size-fits-all approach, but we know that each runner is different. Brooks DNA was developed to continuously tailor the level of cushioning to your specific needs – even as they change during the run.

How does it work?

Brooks DNA is made up of a highly viscous non-Newtonian material or more simply put, a material that adapts to the specific force you apply to it. Part of the brilliance is that this compound was engineered to perform at the molecular level (picture millions of resilient 'nanosprings').

If you looked at Brooks DNA through a microscope, you'd see that it's made up of individual molecules connected in strands. These strands (which form chains) react to the amount of force placed on the foot, dispersing pressure and providing resiliency. Bottom line of this physics lesson: You get tailored cushioning that reacts to your specific weight, pace, gait, movement and running environment – "made-for-me" cushioning vs. "one size fits all."

And, as with all good technology, we’ve taken it a step further (two steps actually):

  • BioMoGo DNA is DNA technology blended with the BioMoGo midsole to provide adaptive cushioning throughout the midsole vs. just in the heel and forefoot.
  • BioMoGo DNA midsole includes an organic, non-toxic additive that biodegrades the midsole 50 times faster than traditional EVA when it comes into contact with anaerobic landfill microbes (otherwise known as active, enclosed landfills).

  • 30% more cushioning than standard midsole materials (gel or EVA)
  • Twice as much energy return for more pep in your step
  • Great performance no matter your weight or running pace
  • Smoother transition from heel to toe

Rounded Heel

What is it?

“Rounded Heel” is just a fancy name that we like to use for the rounded and reduced heel on our shoes. The slight curvature in the heel vastly improves the alignment of your body, encouraging a more efficient stride.

How does it work?

It’s really quite simple. The curvature in the heel works to align the body by shifting the contact point forward. As you hit the ground there is a greater clearance distance under the middle of your heel, which aligns force through the center of your ankle, thus reducing internal stress on your body.

I started with the first Pure Flow in purple. Best shoe out there. Ever. I have a wide foot and a Bunion with its own zip code and this shoe was the first that did not cause pain by mile 5. I bounced around the roads and trails with glee in my new perfect shoe for a couple years (purchasing several pairs of pureflows over that time). Then along came Pure Flow 2 :**(((( whaaaaaa!!! Nothing like the first so I switched to the Pure Connect which was pretty awesome accept it was a little narrow, but my hobbit feet were ok with it and they stretched after a few miles of running. AND THEN!!!!It happened.... the Pure Flow 3 reserected as the first!!! OMG!!! I was at the running store, slipped on the Pure Flow 3 and VIOLA!! It was back. The perfect shoe. I run about 40 to 50 miles per week. I am a marathoner and mad crazy runner.I save all my running shoes as I replace them. I'm on my 3rd pair of Pure Flow 3's. Over the top FANTASTIC shoe. Supports my high arch from years of dancing, supports my Bunion City, gives my heal room, and my foot breaths while running, yet stays warm in my wintery out door runs in the winter. My body shivers, my feet laugh because they somehow stay toasty warm.
This review is too long but what can I say???these shoes really did save my running because at the time I found them I was considering cutting back the running because the foot pain was miserable. Now, I run pain free. They perform better than any shoe on the market.. Yes, that's true... they do... wait for it :) Thank you Brooks Running!!! Bam!!! Happy feet that are uglier than sin ;)) Woot Woot!!!

I have been a marathoner for years, and recently switched to triathlons, training for Ironman this summer. I have been a Brooks lover for all those years, especially when the PureFlows came out, I finally could run pain free and my times were much faster than with previous shoes. I LOVE the PureFlow 2's and have bought almost 6 pairs of them in the past 1.5 years. The changes made to the PureFlow 3's are ridiculous. This is an almost minimal shoe, lightweight, made for mid-foot striking. WHY WOULD YOU CHANGE IT TO A NARROWER sole for people who have all the impact mid-foot!? I am disgusted by the 3's and hope that Brooks re-thinks their PureFlow design. Who tests these shoes? If you are mid-foot striker then a wider base is ideal. Making a narrower shoe is counter-intuitive. I hope Brooks goes back to the PureFlow 2 base, otherwise once I can't find the 2's I'm looking for another brand.

    Comments about PureFlow 3:

I initially bought this shoe to race in because it was so lightweight. I ltraditionally run in a supported shoe so was a bit wary to go to a more neutral shoe. My fears were unfounded. I love this shoe it is so comfortable and it has changed the type of running shoes I buy. This is my second pair and every bit as great as my first pair. - and pink too!

      Comments about PureFlow 3:

So far I have worn these 3 times for 3-4 mile runs. I like them but I think I liked my Brooks Launch better. These feel almost too wide at the front of the shoe but very tight around the arch. It's hard to put them on without my socks getting a little scrunched up but they feel fine once I get going. I think it's just going to take a few more runs to get used to them. Small point, but the laces are cool. They are textured to keep them from coming untied. Nice detail.

not as comfortable as pure flow 2

          Comments about PureFlow 3:

I'm a regular runner, 6-8 miles several days a week. I have been a fan of pureflow 2 shoes, so got the 3s thinking they would have the same amazing supportive cushioning, but unfortunately they're not quite as cushioned as the 2s. There is a lot of intricate stitching on the outside of the shoe near the arch and also on the lateral side that looks cool, but I can feel the stitching under my arch and it is slightly irritating. Still nice and light and free feeling. I'll probably try something different next time.

          Comments about PureFlow 3:

I occassionally run with these shoes and bought them to do high impact aerobics with a lot of plyometrics. I have a small, narrow foot(size 5.5). I like that these shoes are lightweight and have good cushion. They are a pretty bright blue and work well for running. They do not work well for aerobics-the heel height is too low and my foot leans to the outside of the shoe-maybe because the arch support is a bit too high for me. Not sure they would fit a wide foot well-they are pretty narrow.
