Additional Information

Embrace lightweight without losing cushion in the get-up-and-go women's PureFlow 3. We've fine-tuned features like a more rounded heel, sculpted the medial side while integrating a wider Nav Band, and repositioned the Toe Flex to better align your stride. So all you feel is the sweet cushion in your running shoes, and all you need is the open road.

We’re not the only people going with the Flow: Runner’s World Magazine named the PureFlow 3 its "Best Update" in their March 2014 issue. The editors praised new design for its smoother landing, more flexibility in the forefoot, and improved fit; calling the PureFlow 3 "a bargain-priced trainer that handles a lot of miles."

Just like our core line, we hold PureProject to the industry’s highest weartest and durability standards. Because of their lightweight construction and fewer materials, runners should generally expect shoes from the PureProject line to last approximately 250-300 miles.

I'm a big fan of the Pureflow 2. So when these came out, I was due for new running shoes and purchased these. I just received them so I have not run in them.

However out of the box, the first thing I noticed is the color is not as pictured. The shoe is black (not charcoal), with fushia accents, and a very dark silver sole (not white). To be honest, I probably would not have purchased this (or at least this color) had I known it was black.

The toe box also feels tighter both in width and height. I really like the roomier toe box and that is why I preferred the pureflows over the other pure project models.

I will post more after a few runs, but I'm undecided about the shoes from first impressions.

I have been a marathoner for years, and recently switched to triathlons, training for Ironman this summer. I have been a Brooks lover for all those years, especially when the PureFlows came out, I finally could run pain free and my times were much faster than with previous shoes. I LOVE the PureFlow 2's and have bought almost 6 pairs of them in the past 1.5 years. The changes made to the PureFlow 3's are ridiculous. This is an almost minimal shoe, lightweight, made for mid-foot striking. WHY WOULD YOU CHANGE IT TO A NARROWER sole for people who have all the impact mid-foot!? I am disgusted by the 3's and hope that Brooks re-thinks their PureFlow design. Who tests these shoes? If you are mid-foot striker then a wider base is ideal. Making a narrower shoe is counter-intuitive. I hope Brooks goes back to the PureFlow 2 base, otherwise once I can't find the 2's I'm looking for another brand.

    Cons

      Comments about PureFlow 3:

For my foot, this shoe was comfortable for standing only. The nav band and heel cup cut into my outer ankle. The cut of the shoe around the ankle is uncomfortably higher and narrower (maybe deeper like a v) than the connect.

The cushion and flex were good, just for me too stiff in the outer ankle and outer edge of the foot.

Changed and I do not like it

          Comments about PureFlow 3:

I ran the last two Boston Marathons in Pureflows and train in connect. Now my favorite shoe company has added stiff stability to a should be minimalist shoe. Heel feels higher and the shoe bugs my IT band. The connects now are shaped bigger not the snug type like before and again not the light weight free falling foot strike like before. Why make all shoes with stability??? Many bought the pureflow before so obviously we liked the feel. Go back please.

Thankful to hear others had a problem with the area over the toes. This Flow 3 pinched my toes causing my 4th toe to bleed during my last half marathon. I have worn Flows for the past 3 years with no problems. Not running happy with these new Flows. PLEASE go back to the 2's construction around foot.

            Comments about PureFlow 3:

Training for my fifth marathon and had the first pureflow shoes. The redesign for pureflow three is terrible. As soon as I out them on they felt very stiff and with every step the shoe digs into my foot right at the crease. I had a blister within ten minutes of running.
