Additional Information

Embrace lightweight without losing cushion in the get-up-and-go PureFlow 3. We've fine-tuned features like a more rounded heel, sculpted the medial side while integrating a wider Nav Band, and repositioned the Toe Flex to better align your stride. So all you feel is that sweet cushion, and all you need is the open road.

We’re not the only people going with the Flow: Runner’s World Magazine named the PureFlow 3 its "Best Update" in their March 2014 issue. The editors praised new design for its smoother landing, more flexibility in the forefoot, and improved fit; calling the PureFlow 3 "a bargain-priced trainer that handles a lot of miles."

Just like our core line, we hold PureProject to the industry’s highest weartest and durability standards. Because of their lightweight construction and fewer materials, runners should generally expect shoes from the PureProject line to last approximately 250-300 miles.

The new PureFlow 3's are awesome. I loved the PureFlow 1's and not a fan at all of the PureFlow 2's, in fact I gave my 2's away after several uses. The new PureFlow 3's are great. I use them for running and CrossFit on the days i'm either running or doing box jumps. They are very comfortable and the Black/Red colorway looks much nicer than in the photo's.
Anyone who loved the PureFlow 1's i would suggest to pick up a pair of the new 3's because this is an upgrade to the 1's and you will be very happy with them. I just hope they come out with some other (bright) colorways this year so I can have a variety when my current pair wears out. Not a fan of the blue and all black. Brooks, I loved the original men's blue on the PF 1's, they rocked and i got tons of compliments and the original greens were pretty awesome as well.
Great shoe, if you hit the gym, run, into triathalons or CrossFit i suggest you pick up a pair of these shoes I promise you won't be disappointed!

I have long been awaiting a new pure flow to be released. I fell in love with the original pure flow and logged many miles in them. Needing a new shoe, I naturally purchased the pure flow 2, but was less than impressed with the new design. With the pure flow 3, I was hoping to get that feel of the original shoe. When I first put the shoe on, my initial thought was these are too narrow. After one 5 mile run in them, I am skeptical about them. I have areas on the tops of my toes where the shoe was rubbing pretty aggressively. If you decide to purchase think about buying a 1/2 size larger. I will give them a couple more runs and see how they turn out. On the other hand, the shoe has the perfect amount of cushioning and support that I was looking for. I could see myself able to run many miles in them if it weren't for the cramped feel.

Great running shoe!

By Sam

About Me Casual/ Recreational

Pros

  • Comfortable
  • Lightweight
  • Pronation Control
  • Responsive

Cons

    Best Uses

    • Endurance Training

I've been doing the whole barefoot running thing for years now. I just started training for my first marathon and wanted some more support than my Vibrams give me. I picked a low-heel, minimalist shoe to ease the transition. I'm loving running in these shoes! They're incredibly lightweight and I think simulate barefoot running as well as you possibly can without actually doing it.

I purchased these shoes in preparation for an 8k in June, replacing a pair of Ravenna 4's, based on the recommendation from Runner's World. I immediately noticed how light and responsive they were. I ran a PR in the 8k and loved the way the shoes felt as I ran. You can definitely feel the cushioning- every landing is very soft and push-off springy. Unfortunately, due to the sole material, they wear very quickly. I began to notice that the soles started to wear after only 20-30 miles. Luckily, I also have a pair of Racer ST 5's that are just as light and seem to be wearing much more slowly. I definitely like these sneakers but I wouldn't recommend them as an everyday trainer because of their low durability. If I do get another pair, I'll probably save them for race days.

      • Walking

I love my walking I can put your shoes on brand new and walk 5 miles and no problem Light weight and I like that the soles don't catch as much dirt as others I like the bumpy laces I like the fact that my sweaty feet come out dry after use. The colors are great
My only problem is that the mesh in the front of the shoe isn't very strong and I seem to get holes where my big toes are very quickly. No holes in my socks

      Great Lightweight Trainer

      • Longer Races
      • Speed workouts

I am about 62kg and 5'-8" with a neutral/mid-foot strike and love these shoes. They are my primary training shoe. I typically race in the T7, everything from 5km to marathon. Weekly milage averages from 50-120km and they keep feeling fresh if I replace them every 400km (running all on pavement). They have a lower heel wedge than traditional running shoes and the arch/pronation support is so perfect that you don't notice it. I'll run long in them right out of the box with no issues of blisters. When I first tried these last year coming from a more traditional shoe (Adrenaline) I experienced a little soreness in my calf but quickly went away; I feel much more efficient in these than a traditional heel wedge shoe and have had a (knock on wood) zero percent rate of shoe-related injury while in them.

I have loved the Flows(3 pairs) since they come out and do plan on getting a pair of these. I am very excited to hear that they are more like the 1st generation though. I do agree with one of the other posters though that the choice of colors is rather blah. Black, Black, Grey, and blue are not really that creative guys. The Pure shoes are supposed to be something different and that is what you come up with? What happened to the Greens, Oranges, Yellows, etc?
