Additional Information

Like peanut butter and jelly or water and energy gels, the lightweight construction and lush cushioning of the PureFlow 2 are a perfect match. The key to blending the two is engineering comfort features in a lean way like a shaped BioMoGo DNA midsole that gives your feet a cushy feel without added materials. It's a match your feet will hunger for.

Just like our core line, we hold PureProject to the industry’s highest weartest and durability standards. Because of their lightweight construction and fewer materials, runners should generally expect shoes from the PureProject line to last approximately 250-300 miles.

This is the second pair of the Brooks pure flow that I have owned. The first pair I bought was last year prior to my first Marathon and was sceptical at the time of the whole "minimalist" movement but thought that I would try them anyway. At the time that I purchased them I was having some pain in my right knee and was worried about not being able to complete my first marathon.
The first run in them had me sold on not just how comfortable they were but also how I felt when I was finished. The pain in my knee went away immediately. My second run in them was a 24 miler and again I was amazed.
It was a logical option for me to try the pure flow 2's just because of the luck that I had with the first pair.
I purchased the black and grey ones and they look great. I am not too flashy of a person so the looks of the black and blue ones was not a huge selling point for me. When I tried them on in the store I was a little concerned as I felt a "hot spot" on the top of my foot where the new lacing system loop hole was at. The place I purchased them has a great return policy so I decided I would try them anyway.
I was so delighted that as my foot started to move in them while I ran that the "hot spot" went away and the familar cushioning that I loved from the first ones came back.
I love the new lacing system. My foot does not slide around as much as it did in the first ones and they feel almost like they mold to your feet.
I look forward to the next couple hundred miles in these and will be back for more when these ones wear out. Brooks has hit another home run with these shoes.
I HIGHLY reccomend them to anyone.

I was a big fan of the PF1, and I was excited to try the PF2. So far (after a few weeks), I have been a bit disappointed. The only problem I ever encountered with the PF1 was poor traction on wet pavement. It seemed that this problem was universal to all wearers, but it was not addressed in the new version. Instead, Brooks narrowed the toe box (which I can live with, but I preferred the wide toe box in the first generation) and adopted an asymmetrical lacing system and tongue. Apparently people complained about tongue slippage in the PF1. I never encountered this problem in the two pairs that I went through. So far I have found the sewn in tongue to be annoying and of no real benefit. It also could be responsible for pain on the top of my foot and my arches - neither of which I experienced in the PF1 (although those pains seem to go away after about 2 miles). Other than that, the ride is similar to the PF1. Whereas I enthusiastically recommended the PF1 to friends, I would recommend the PF2 with reservations. It is still a good shoe, but as usually seems to be the case, not as good as the previous version.

Comments about PureFlow 2:

I love Brooks shoes and was excited to try the PureFlow. I'm female, but need to buy men's shoes due to my wide feet. However, the midfoot of this shoe is so tight! Even just wearing it around the house is uncomfortable. I found some websites describing how to remove the Nav band, and that has helped somewhat. In addition, the arch in all Brooks shoes is too high for me to wear. I have a favorite type of insole that I usually put in, but for some reason they don't fit in the PureFlow. I'm still trying to find one that's comfortable. What I love about the shoe is the wide toebox, how light it is and how it looks. So I'll keep it, but sadly it is relegated to very short runs and gym shoes only.

Comments about PureFlow 2:

I had tried my first pair of PURE line shoes at a demo and ran 8 miles training for a half marathon. I discovered how easy it is to over tighten the laces and cause pains in my feet. These shoes just barley need to be tied.

I found them on sale and bought these and the pureflows (haven't tried them). The first few runs I've done have been at race pace or faster and they are comfortable to run in. I've had a few runs that have bugged one foot because of the big bulge under the foot on the right hand side in front of the heel. it might have been because I tied the shoes too tight because I can only think of one run it's bugged me on.

I'm a heel striker and can see the shoes SLIGHTLY wearing in the usual spot after 30 miles so I'm curious to see how many miles these last. I've done up to 8 miles at 10 seconds faster than race pace and my feet don't hurt, IT band doesn't hurt, and the shoes don't bother me while running. They seem A LITTLE snug in the toe box compared to my Ravenna but if they last 250 miles and I can get them on sale I'll keep buying these.

Comments about PureFlow 2:

I bought this shoe when the 2's were closing out and the 3's were rolling out. I bought it as a third shoe to add to my current two shoe rotation. My primary shoe is the Pure Connect, so I bought the same size that I wear in the Pure Connect - unfortunately this shoe is bigger. The half-size difference isn't huge, so I can wear these for easy runs and for walking, but I wouldn't trust myself doing a long run or any kind of speed/interval work in them. A good shoe, but be careful of the size you order.

Great for long distance runs, but still light enough for speed work. I only run about 25-30 miles a week, but often with 'heavy' legs from a lot of riding as well, and these shoes provide great cushioning while being light weight.

This is the 2nd pair of PF2's I've owned. I am totally satisfied with them. I've completed two marathons in them and most training runs leading up to both races.

I don't recommend jumping in to these (or any of the PF line) without starting slowly and getting good advice from your local running store.

I love my new Brooks Pure Flow 2s. This last week since my purchase I have run 13 miles in them, 6.2 of those being and Endurance 10K obstacle course. They were awesome!

I started running again after being out of the military for 13 years. Over the last year I have only been running in Brooks. I haven't experienced any issues since switching to your shoe…I am a Brooks wearer for life!

Thanks for such a great product!

I average 20 miles a week on these Brooks and I'm really enjoying them. I bought them overseas with me and they are taking the rough conditions well. This running shoe is very light and fit very well to my foot. With most running shoes going to all these clown colors I hope Brooks will continue to keep it simply with their colors but.....continue to bring us the best in running shoes, thanks.

Arch support in these shoes are great. This is one of the best shoes I have ever had for running/walking. Great fit. I did get a half size bigger because I have a problem with my toe next to my big toe and losing my toenail when working out avidly.
