Additional Information

Runners are raving about these shoes – and so is Runner's World! The PureConnect was named "Best Debut" in Runner’s World’s Winter 2012 Shoe Guide in the December issue. The editors said the PureConnect "strikes a balance between barefoot-inspired minimalism and cushioning-required training. It has a lightweight, barely there feel yet is substantive enough to handle long tempo runs."

You'll feel your run from head to big toe with the radically lightweight and flexible PureConnect. Neutral runners who crave less shoe and more freedom will love the maximum breathability of an open mesh upper built on a slim and nimble underfoot.
A split toe groove extends through the forefoot allowing the runner to really engage the foot and get a greater sense of connection to the ground. This is a shoe for those who want as little as possible between them and the road.

Just like our core line, we hold PureProject to the industry’s highest weartest and durability standards. Because of their lightweight construction and fewer materials, runners should generally expect shoes from the PureProject line to last approximately 250-300 miles.

I am not a runner, but I'm really into Zumba and I was having a hard time finding a fitness shoe that was flexible and supportive along with light weight at the same time. I tried on all the "Zumba" fitness shoes and was hesitant to order right from a website...after a billion searches online and trips to the Mall I went into a store and asked for Zumba shoes. The guy hands me these cute Brooks and I put them on and it was love at first feel...I could Samba, Tango, Salsa without the traction of the shoe getting in the way. (you really need a dance shoe or cheerleading shoe),I tried everything Puma, Nike, Zumba, and they were too stiff and didnt have the breathability that these do and I workout 1-3 hours a day, So here you go Brooks, thank you for this shoe I'm going to be getting a second pair and you can add Zumba to the uses.

Here is the problem.
These shoes are great, except, for some reason the women's version rubs at the heel. (The material in the heel pocket for the men's and women's is different). I am not a person who normally has any problems with shoes rubbing but I would suggest to the ladies (despite the colorway being so awesome) order the men's version (which is much softer in the back) in the appropriate size. Your heels will thank you.

These shoes seemed great, they just weren't what I was looking for. They were a good in-between to minimalist and not minimalist shoes but I'm just in love with minimalist shoes :)

These shoes are amazing. I've been running for about a year and half now and I feel I'm always on the hunt for the perfect shoe. I came across this shoe because I went to my local running shoe store to purchase a 2nd pair of sneakers to alternate every other day with. I love my Mizuno's because they are so lightweight so I wanted another shoe similar in weight. I walked into the store with the plan of purchasing a saucony lightweight but fell in love with this one. It was love as soon as I slid my foot into it. I ran on the treadmill in the store and decided immediately these were the ones. I have ran in them numerous times now and they have helped me decrease my mile time. Crazy, I know!!!!
So what are the negatives you ask....... Well I do circuit training after I run and while doing push ups or burpies they do not have good floor traction. I know minor considering they are running shoes.
2nd negative- you will be lucky to find these shoes now in your size. They are the old model and Brooks has come out with the PureConnect 2 and they are far from the original. I have a wide toe box and the PureConnect 2 are tight for me in the toe area. I purchased a pair and took them back.
Please, please Brooks make the PureConnect original again. I have searched all over the Internet to purchase a 2nd pair.

Satisfied with the Shoes!

I am a college runner who runs every day. My runs consist of easy 35 minute runs 2-3 times a week and workouts of faster running 2-3 times a week. My feet are very sensitive and I have a high arch. I am a mid distance runner to give you some background info. These shoes were the first pair of shoes I've ran in without getting ANY blisters. Before these shoes I wore Nike Lunar Glide +4, and they didn't give me arch support, but had good cushioning. These shoes however have excellent arch support for high arches, but they don't have much cushion. They were more stiff than I had expected, but because I have proper arch support, the pounding and lack of cushion is compensated. I wear these shoes to run in on pavement, the track, and some light trails through the woods, and they do fine. Right now I'm running 30-35 miles a week and the shoes are holding up nice. I am very pleased with these shoes and how I have not had any blisters, my arch is supported, and the width is smaller than most shoes which keeps my foot secure. The only thing was the lack of cushion in the shoes, which makes sense, because these are minimalist shoes. Because of this, my muscles were so sore and tightened so much from getting used to the feel. This is my fault though, because I didn't take the time to let my legs get used to the shoes. As soon as I got these shoes, I switched to them right away and was already running 60 minutes in them and so on. So just take note of that. Over all, the shoes were awesome!

My wife has sworn by PureConnect for some time, so when I got back on the streets I tried a pair. Turns out she was right, so I figured the least I could do was purchase a replacement pair for her now that she's worn hers out.

These shoes are lightweight and comfortable! My first pair of PureConnect. I was a little worried about the difference from my Brooks Ravenna, but they were the perfect size and a great pair of running shoes.
