Additional Information

Lean construction fuses with a responsive fit in the PureCadence. For Guidance to Support runners, this shoe delivers more support through smart, streamlined features such as a wider Nav Band that’s locked in to the medial strike pod. A reinforced heel counter secures the foot and the internal PDRB helps prevent overpronation. The PureCadence gives runners who need more stability the chance to experience the feel of a natural foot strike with a lightweight, breathable shoe.

Just like our core line, we hold PureProject to the industry’s highest weartest and durability standards. Because of their lightweight construction and fewer materials, runners should generally expect shoes from the PureProject line to last approximately 250-300 miles.

Oh Cadence in Blue, Such a light running shoe. I think I love you.
I bought you to run 26.2, we are training so hard, and this much is true.
You support my feet, each step is a treat, my arch is happy, my PF feels glee.
I only starred you one less, because your tongue is a mess.

That is all I have Ode wise... I love the Cadences for the most part for all of the reasons above. They feel supportive, and cushioned. I run on concrete mostly and run 30+ miles a week, I use runner's loops to tie my shoes. I had surgery for plantar fasciitis a year and a half ago after suffering with it for over a year, and am very picky about my support. Cadence has that covered. I really feel that I have enough support and cushion in this shoe. The only problem that I can see is the shoe tongue. It slides because there is no loop to hold it and it bothers me. I know technically it is ok for it to slide, but I can feel it and if I don't pay attention to my feet I find I clench them some to try to keep the tongue in place (to no avail). I did ask Brooks about this and they said the Spring 2013 Cadences address this, which is why i only took off one star as opposed to 2. They suggested I sew a loop on the tongue, and I will because I got a blister on my unrelaxed toes. First blister ever. So I love how the Cadences feel, they are super-light and supportive, and with the change planned for 2013 they will most likely be the perfect shoe for me.

After trying on the Pure Cadence and Pure Flow, both my husband and I decided to each buy the Pure Cadence. I'm training for my first half marathon, so I'm logging about 15-20mi per week. I over pronate and have had a terrible case of ITBS prior to wearing these shoes. I've tried Saucony and Nike in the past. I've used Super Feet inserts, as my ortho told me I have flat feet. Trying on the Pure Cadence, I knew immediately that these were the shoes for me. They are designed in such a way that my body weight shifts forward to the toes and keeps me off my heels. The Pure Flow did the opposite. My weight was shifted back on my heels. Now here we are just 4mos later and the rubber on the heels has PEELED off. I mean, worn so bad it peeled away from the sole of the shoe. There's no black rubber left. I'm not a heavy person (only 118#) and I don't wear them anywhere but on the road for running. I've worn them in the snow when I first got them, so really, they wouldn't have lasted even this long if it was dry conditions only. Speaking of which, be very careful if you wear them on wet roads or sidewalks as you will surely slip. I have fallen twice. These shoes are so comfortable on the inside and have been such a HUGE help in alieviating my knee pain. I just cannot get over the fact that they are worn completely down to the cushion of the shoe. There's no way I'm going to shell out [$] every 4 mos for new shoes. I wanted to love these shoes. I thought I had found that make/model that you rely on for years to come. Instead, I'm very disappointed.By the way, my husband's shoes: worn and peeling on the toes. He has put on 25-30mi per week. His are not as bad in the heel.

Love these shoes. Bought a pair last year to try them out (I wore a different brand religiously before trying these) and at first, they felt strange and were a little hard to get used to. However, after a couple runs....LOVE THEM. I like the fact that they are lightweight, still provide support (I've tried the superlight shoes...they did not work for me) and feel great on. I was having difficulty finding them online and wanted to make sure I had enough in stock in my closet so I bought several pairs. I run about 25-30 miles a week, about 6-8miles each time and they seem to be holding up well. I do normally run inside due to the weather in the northwest, so I haven't experienced issues with wet shoes (as others mention).

Got them in the mail and ran in them that night! Ran two 5k's and they fit so well I wore them that weekend to a half marathon! PR'd my 5k and half in these shoes, love them so much I just ordered another pair since they are on closeout. Brooks, please bring these back! They are way better than the new version!

Perfect for the new long distance runner going in the direction of minimal shoes. These still have the cushion I like, but with the flexibility and lightweight I want. Easy transition to the midfoot stride in these shoes. I had to order a 1/2 size bigger than I normally would, then it fits perfect. Two full and two half Marathons later I came back for another pair - as did my husband.

This is my second pair of the first version of Pure Cadence. They take a few more runs to break-in than any other other running sneaker I have worn, which can be frustrating for the first week or so (I run 30 mi/wk). But once these sneakers are broken-in they are the best. Lightweight but with excellent support and comfort. The band around the arch is one of a kind in this shoe. It successfully provides the support I like but in light-weight shoe that I thought I would never be happy with otherwise.

This shoe is great for runners who like a supportive sneaker and never thought they would be able to take advantage of a minimalist shoe.

Brooks please bring this shoe back. My entire bootcamp class at the gym wears these. We are all very sad that this shoe is gone. We do not like the Pure Cadence 2 nearly as well. This is hands down the best crosstraining shoe that I have ever owned.

I purchased my first pair of Brooks (Pure Cadence) over a year ago and I absolutely loved them! I am in the middle of training for my first half marathon, and needed a new pair, so I immediately decided to get another set of Pure Cadence! Great shoes, so comfortable and supportive. I would recommend these to anyone!

I've previously gone through 3 pairs of PureCadence 1 injury free while training for Boston. These shoes are a dream come true (light, flexible and supportive)! When i switched to PureCadence 2, I started to develop all sorts of injuries (quad, hamstrings, knees) and did not realize that it could be the shoes until I read other reviews on this site. I was lucky enough to find one last pair of the original PureCadences in my size, and after one week (including a 23 mile run) I am injury free and running happy again. Brooks, please read all these stellar reviews and bring back theses shoes!

I thought the Size 5.5 would be a workable alternate to the Size 6 running shoes for fast walking, but not so. They hurt my feet, especially width-wise. Maybe my feet have gotten wider over the years, because I used to wear 5.0 or 5.5. My fault, but I was drawn to the color (white with salmon-pink trim) and the clearance price. For fast-walking, will stick to Size 6 from now on -- or even 6.5 if I want to wear a thicker running sock instead of the thin ones required for a comfortable fit. (In the Brooks, I can't use the well-padded Expedia socks I bought.) I'll have to use the 5.5s for non-sports activities.

I'd recommend the shoe only to those with narrower, smaller feet than I have.

I need a LOT of support for my high arches and the fact I supinate. Without the right shoe, I can easily get shin splints even with walking at a brisk pace. These have been great so far for lots of walking and even some light running (a bit of a first for me!) but these helped me see I could run without pain!
