Additional Information

Getting support doesn't mean adding extra weight when it comes to this ultra-light yet stable turn-hugger. It starts with our perfected Rounded Heel that aligns your strike, and then transitions to a sculpted medial midfoot with a wider and more integrated Nav Band, finishing with supreme flex, featherweight materials, and full-throttle looks. The result: feeling supported without feeling the shoe.

Just like our core line, we hold PureProject to the industry’s highest weartest and durability standards. Because of their lightweight construction and fewer materials, runners should generally expect shoes from the PureProject line to last approximately 250-300 miles.

At 68 years old and a 15 year gap since serious running, I started running again. After several tries at different styles, I purchased the PureCadence 1 and was thrilled to find the best shoe I had ever run in since my Sauconys from the 70's. The minimalist design seemed to have perfect support even with my extreme flat feet and heavier body. I wore out my last pair of PureCadence 1 (I had stocked up on them after all the negative reviews of the PureCadence 2) and because of my aching knees took the plunge to purchase the PureCadence 3 before there were any reviews. First impression is that there is more support than PureCadence 1 which, with my very flat feet, feels great. The only complaint I have is that the toe box feels a little too roomy in the toe section and my forefoot seems to slide around quite a bit. Maybe that is because of the repositioned "Toe Flex." Otherwise a very comfortable and supportive shoe that I would highly recommend.

I ran 23 marathons and ultras in the original PC. Those shoes were heavenly, and I wore out 8 pairs. The switch to angled laces in the PC2 was a disaster, loosening and causing injury during my distance runs. I've been waiting a year for this PC3 and was crushed to see they were designed with the angled laces again. In addition to that, the stitching across the toe joints pinched just walking around in the store. Yikes. I couldn't buy them, and I'm so bummed.
I have a hard time believing the glowing reviews on this website are from actual runners/customers. This shoe is not like the original PC.
I love love love the original version of this shoe, and so did many others - I used to see lots of people wearing Pure Cadence at marathons.. Go back to the original design for the PC4 and I will come sprinting back as a customer. For now, I need to find other shoes for my 2014 race season.

Comments about PureCadence 3:

The fit is better with this series. Last series the sizing was off and it was very narrow. This time, I am wearing my normal shoe size and the overall fit is much more comfortable.

Comments about PureCadence 3:

I had the previous two versions of the PureCadence and I had to go up a 1/2 size in this version. I compared the shape of the shoe to the previous version and it is narrow, which accounts for the size difference. That is disappointing because the reason I love Brooks shoes is because they tend to have a lot of toe room. The tongue and laces are also a pain because of the way they are angled. The edge of the laces hits the top of one of the bones in my foot and it takes a while to adjust the laces and tongue so it doesn't hurt my foot. That said, once everything is adjusted, they feel good while running. I haven't gone past 6 miles yet, but plan to try them on a longer run soon. I wish they would bring back a wider toe, though.

    Comments about PureCadence 3:

Long runs, pavement and dirt road, although sometimes 2 of my toes go numb on the left side. The padding in the ball of the foot feels like a large lump under my foot. I like the shoes and will continue to use them, they are just different from my last running shoes.

I have been searching for my new shoe for close to 8 months. I ran in the Mizuno Elixer for the last 6 years and then it was discontinued. This is the best shoe I have found for a replacement. It is lightweight, offers enough support and is comfortable.

      Comments about PureCadence 3:

I loved my original pure cadence shoes. I went through three pairs and found them to be the MOST comfortable running shoe I have ever worn. I ran two full marathons and several shorter races in them. I did not like the 2s at all, so I stocked up on 1s while they were still available. I was hoping 3s would be better than the 2s, and they are, but not nearly as comfortable as the originals. They are narrow in the middle, I hate the laces and attached lip, and they sometimes cause pain on the outside of my feet.
