Additional Information

Getting support doesn't mean adding extra weight when it comes to this ultra-light yet stable turn-hugger. It starts with our perfected Rounded Heel that aligns your strike, and then transitions to a sculpted medial midfoot with a wider and more integrated Nav Band, finishing with supreme flex, featherweight materials, and full-throttle looks. The result: feeling supported without feeling the shoe.

Just like our core line, we hold PureProject to the industry’s highest weartest and durability standards. Because of their lightweight construction and fewer materials, runners should generally expect shoes from the PureProject line to last approximately 250-300 miles.

When I started running & was told I was an over-pronator, naturally I became part of the motion-control shoe club, & my first pair of shoes weighed like a ton of bricks. I thought I was sentenced to 2 ton shoes until, eventually, I found my way to the Adrenaline GTS line, which I have loved and been devoted to ever since. That is, until...I decided to try my luck with Pure Cadence. Perhaps my arches and stride have strengthened & improved with time, but recently I felt I needed shoes with even less weight, while still providing some measure of control. I knew I still didn't qualify for a neutral shoe, so when I read about the Pure Cadences, it sounded like the perfect solution. I was wary, since the Adrenalines had served me so well & consistently receive high ratings. Based on reviews, the Pure Cadence line didn't seem to rate quite as well. But what doesn't work for one person may work for another, and you never know until you try, so I held my breath & went for the purchase. And I am so glad I did! These shoes feel like they were made for me. Light & airy, with still enough guidance. I had read that a lot of people find the width too narrow, but my feet are on the narrow side as it is, so the fit was ideal for me. For others, however, I can see where it may feel too tight. Considering how light it is, I can still feel great cushioning with every step off. Better yet, I ran my first race (5K) without orthotics for the first time this week & my feet never felt better! I felt like I was running on clouds. Another added benefit is how cool & stylish the colors and design are. I know those are not the priority factors one considers in buying the right shoe, but it sure doesn't hurt! As for durability, I haven't had them long enough to attest to that, so only time will tell. Otherwise, love this shoe & will plan on another pair in the future.

I ran 23 marathons and ultras in the original PC. Those shoes were heavenly, and I wore out 8 pairs. The switch to angled laces in the PC2 was a disaster, loosening and causing injury during my distance runs. I've been waiting a year for this PC3 and was crushed to see they were designed with the angled laces again. In addition to that, the stitching across the toe joints pinched just walking around in the store. Yikes. I couldn't buy them, and I'm so bummed.
I have a hard time believing the glowing reviews on this website are from actual runners/customers. This shoe is not like the original PC.
I love love love the original version of this shoe, and so did many others - I used to see lots of people wearing Pure Cadence at marathons.. Go back to the original design for the PC4 and I will come sprinting back as a customer. For now, I need to find other shoes for my 2014 race season.

    Comments about PureCadence 3:

I loved the first PureCadence shoe so much that I bought a second pair. I skipped 2 because of the reviews but tried 3.. While I love the attached tongue, they just don't feel right. For the price, I'm not impressed.

This is my second pair of Pure Cadence shoes. Love the support they give me for long distance (10+ miles) runs. My knees and hips don't hurt afterwards as they have with other shoes. I have also bought Pure Connect and Pure Flow, but Cadence is my fav.

      Comments about PureCadence 3:

Ok....let me start by saying the first installments of the Pure Cadence were the best of the 3 to come out. It seems most of us think this but it just cannot be said enough until Brooks recognizes it. I went through quite a few pairs of the first series but sadly.....in late 2013, I could no longer find them after hours of digging and searching online. I had seen HORRENDOUS reviews about the 2nd installment and did not want to waste the money. The 3rd installment came out with some better reviews....I have ran quite a few races in the PureCadence 3, including a half marathon and lots of training. I like them, they serve their purpose and overall are a GOOD shoe....but I still constantly compare them to the first series which was a GREAT shoe. My main reason being.....the first installment never gave me pain, blisters, etc. The 3rd installment, I've had some instances where I've blistered, my feet have felt too tight in them, and I've had some occasional foot pain. While I would normally attribute this to my own doing, I simply cannot bc I never experienced this in the first shoe and was running the same distance and doing the same training. Brooks....while this shoe is certainly a step up from the 2nd installment, it is still not comparable to the 1st installment. PLEASE BRING IT BACK!

      Comments about PureCadence 3:

I needed solid black shoes for work so I ordered the adrenaline GTS 14 & tried them around the house. They are too hard for my feet. I love the pure cadence as I have planters foot and the pure cadence work great without my expensive orthotics. I am returning the adrenaline and ordering another pair of pure cadence 3. I even wear these to play tennis. JUST WISH THEY CAME IN SOLID BLACK.

      Comments about PureCadence 3:

The Brooks Pure Cadence 2 was the perfect shoe for me. After battling various injuries while running on and off the past 4+ years, I finally found a shoe that kept my ankles and lower legs happy. I even ran my first half-marathon in them. It was a dream come true, really.

So, I was excited to try the Pure Cadence 3. Sadly, this model is quite different than the PC 3. The toe box has less room, the mid-foot nav band is too snug, and there is a seam that runs along my first metatarsal on the top of my foot that causes friction/pressure. I had to return these shoes to my local shop and go online to order some Pure Cadence 2's.

I really, really hope that the next model comes out soon (before the PC 2's disappear from back-stock) and addresses these problems that I've seen others write about, too. I love Brooks shoes, and there's nothing else out there that compares or comes close to the Brooks Pure Cadence 2.
