Additional Information

Getting support doesn't mean gaining weight when it comes to this ultra-light yet stable turn-hugger. It starts with our perfected Rounded Heel that aligns your strike, and then transitions to a sculpted medial midfoot with a wider and more integrated Nav Band, finishing with supreme flex, featherweight materials, and full-throttle looks. The result: feeling supported without feeling the shoe.

Just like our core line, we hold PureProject to the industry’s highest weartest and durability standards. Because of their lightweight construction and fewer materials, runners should generally expect shoes from the PureProject line to last approximately 250-300 miles.

This is truly a great shoe. I've ran in 20 plus shoes in the past two years and this one is by far my favorite. The upper is made of very comfortable material, but it's not flimsy like some shoes, yet it is still breathable. The underfoot cushioning is nice and soft, but still retains good responsiveness. I am very happy with this shoe. The only thing I would change is the navband. It's a little too tight for my liking, but this shoe is such an outstanding shoe that I can live with that one negative. I really enjoy running in these shoes, they feel so soft. Highly recommend them!

Made the switch to low profile show with my beloved Brooks (from GT). The PC-2 is a great shoe. Fantastic. PC-3: too narrow, stiffer sole material, upper cross band is not elastic - very rigid.

I'm hopeful that Brooks will get back on track and return to what built their brand: quality, constancy, trust!!!

Comments about PureCadence 3:

I average about 40-50 mi/week, and retire these @ about 350. I'd been hoarding pairs of PureCadence 2's, mostly because of the color options (love the black PC 2s), but finally started rotating these in towards the end of the summer. The PC 3's are growing on me, but I have a few minor complaints about the changes over the PC 2: the sole feels a little stiffer mid-foot and (for me) it seems to interrupt the transition from landing to push-off just a little; the upper seems narrower mid foot and pulls up on my arch more than I'm accustomed to (although this might ultimately be support that I need); and the colors are AWEFUL. Seriously Ugly.

If the PC2s were still available, I'd buy them indefinitely, but barring that the PureCadence in any iteration is still my go to shoe for a daily trainer, and I'd buy it over anything else.

That said, if you're listening Brooks, can we have some kind of black or dark gray as an option for the PC4? Seriously, some of us guys like to both run neutral and LOOK neutral!

Comments about PureCadence 3:

I have been using this shoe since it was first produced by Books. The cadence 3 is great except for the width or toe box area is too small. I have a wide foot and the previous models were always wide enough to allow the extra room. I would tell people to order a larger size but I don't think that will help much with the width of the shoe.

        Comments about PureCadence 3:

These are the first sneakers I bought in 8 years. My how technology has changed! These are very lightweight without being unnerving. The oblique lacing pattern takes a little getting used to but it's fine. I love the way the tongue is fixed on one side, avoiding the common tongue slide-to-the-side problem. The midfoot band really does perform as designed, holding your foot without feeling like a band at all.

The best part of this sneaker is the heel. Haveing had cross trainers with a blocky heel forever, I was a little apprehensive moving to a dedicated running sneaker when I plan to play squash & tennis in it. No problem there. PureCadence is wonderful, and the rounded heel transitions heel strike better; no more strike-slap, strike-slap.

I'm a mild-to-moderate pronator, and the fit/support was better than the Ravennas which I bought at the same time to trial both. No uncomfortable seams, no awkward pressure points. Just a delightful sneaker, which anyone but a hyperspecialized athlete would be happy to wear as an all-purpose sneaker.
