    Sprinting Spikes

    2017/05/15 | Upstate New York |

These track spikes are great! They are super light and have amazing traction, even when using blanks. Contrary to what was stated in Alex's review below, these are NOT cross-country shoes. These spikes are meant for sprint races on a track only (100m-400m). They are not for mid-distance or long-distance events. I had to get one whole size larger than my regular shoe size.

    Great shoe!

These are incredible racing shoes. They are unbelievably light and have crazy traction. However, just like all racing flats and spikes, are very lacking in support. So unless you're a very serious runner and have a lot of strength in your foot and ankle, these are probably not the best for you. However if you are, these will definitely give you an edge. Also, it's important to remember what kind of shoes these are: they're for cross country races. That means you cannot use them for road racing. Even though the metal spikes are removable, there are are lot of smaller, plastic cleats that are not. If you tried to run on pavement or a course with a lot of rocks, you would actually lose traction and possibly damage the shoe in the process. Also, because they are so light, a lot of sacrifices had to be made in terms of support. So these shoes shouldn't be used for practice or training daily, I'd only use them when doing intervals and when racing. Bottom line: these shoes are awesome in every way when used correctly. Happy running!
