Additional Information

Every lace and stitch of the all-new Glycerin 12 running shoe goes above and beyond the standards of comfort. This neutral running shoe for men was inspired by the clouds and designed to feel like running in a meadow toward the one you love. Or maybe just out for a post-run pint. New Super DNA provides 20% more cushioning than BioMoGo DNA, while Ideal Pressure Zones in the outsole optimize pressure distribution from heel to forefoot. And the upper? A conformable saddle wraps the foot, while 3D Fit Print creates a custom fit without adding weight. At just 10.9 ounces, the Glycerin 12 is lighter than ever, but full of new technologies to elevate your run.

I have been buying Glycerin shoes for a few years (10 and 11). I typically run between 6-16 miles. I received this model recently and was surprised that the tops my big toes were getting sore at the end of my 8 mile runs. From looking at the fit, it seems like this model (or my particular shoes) are a bit smaller than previous models. Also, I noticed that the material in this model is more rugged, but might make them a bit stiffer (although this does not seem to be a problem).

The new Glycerin 12 design has fallen well below my expectations of Brooks. The width of the heel in this shoe is about 3/4" narrower than any previous Glycerin model. This leads to a lack of support and stability on your heel strike. I wear a 2E and this shoe also feels tighter in the forefoot. I have purchased many Glycerins over the years and have always loved the design, fit, and comfort of them but these shoes are just too uncomfortable to wear. I hope they reference the previous model's design when creating the 13.

      Comments about Glycerin 12:

The shoe is not as supportive as I hoped and it does not feel the same as the Adrenaline GTS 13 which was my favorite shoe. I have a narrow foot and like my shoes to stay tight to my feet. This shoe is "loose" feeling and too soft for me. But not a half size too big - just enough to be annoying. I run about 15 miles a week unless I am training for a half marathon.

        Comments about Glycerin 12:

I have owned the Glycerin model since the 9 was out. I have always liked them. I even own 5 pair of the Glycerin 11 that I use each day for work as well as play. The Glycerin 12 have a narrower heel than all previous models. This takes away the support, cushioning and comfort that I have grown to love.I just returned the new 12's and have purchased another of the 11's before the stock was out of my size.I will wait and hope the Glycerin 13 better.

          Comments about Glycerin 12:

This is by far one of the best shoes I have ever worn. I usually go through about 8-10 pairs of shoes a year and I anticipate having lots of these to help me Run Happy. The shoe has amazing cushioning yet is NOT heavy. It is deceptively light. This would be a phenomenal shoe for those training for marathons and beyond. I would HIGHLY recommend this shoe to anyone needing a neutral cushioned ride but don't want a heavy shoe.

            Comments about Glycerin 12:

I had run in Ghost 5 for about 1 1/2 years about 30-40 miles per week with multiple half and full marathon events and loved them. I then switched to the Ghost 6 for the last 6 months with multiple events, but after running a recent marathon and during the last few weeks of training, I developed knee pain which I never had with the Ghost 5. I recently switched to the Glycerin 12 and wow what an immediate difference. I found the shoe much more stable with no twisting or turning action, better cushion, which all led to smooth running. I now have no knee issues and they feel normal again as with the Ghost 5. I love these shoes and I will keep using them as they seem to work great to minimize the pounding on long runs, which I can dramatically feel in my hips, legs and knees. Wow what a difference!
