I want to love this shoe

    2017/05/17 | St Pete, FL |

I like everything about this shoe. Except the rubber toe cap. Most running shoes have a little toe bumper. These have a toe "helmet". It extends up from the sole and goes all the way OVER the big toe. As a consequence, the toenail on my right big-toe rubs the inside of the toe "helmet" and wears holes in all my socks. The longest run I've done in these shoe is 7 miles, so I don't know if this issue would cause me any discomfort on longer runs, but I'm not going to try to find out, because socks are too dang expensive these days. The purpose of the toe-helmet is a little beyond me. These aren't sold as trail shoes (or safety boots) so I really don't know why Brooks stuck that on there. It seems completely pointless. Otherwise, I love everything about these shoes. If you try these on and can raise your toe and touch the inside of that toe "helmet", you should probably pick a different shoe.

Perfect for America prosthetics orthotics (cork)

    2017/05/16 | Iowa |

The "guide rails" make these shoes work well with flexible orthotics. The orthotics ride on the arch guide rail and do not collapse. After buying 10-20 shoes nothing worked until these. The cushioning is good and so is the heal angle. The tongue is lacking padding but I have 2 more pairs in the box ready to go. Brooks please continue to make this with guide rails and narrow!

I have ordered another pair today.

    2017/05/16 | Fort Mill, SC |

I was a Glycerin fan for many years but the 14's did not fit the same as previous versions. So I tried a pair of Ghost 9's at Dick's Sporting Goods and I have a new favorite. Just got my new shoes today and they feel great. In fact, just bought a second pair.....highly recommend them to avid walkers as well as runners.

    Easing into bliss.

    2017/05/09 | Brooklyn |

I have been wearing Glycerin 13s for the past 2 years and I wanted to try a different neutral model shoe, with similar cushioning and more ventilation (the Glycerins do not vent enough for me in the hot months). I sprung for the Ghost 9s - they feel lighter, vent a touch better, and have a more responsive toe-off - also, the platform feels great for my forefoot running style. The foot heel-to-toe roll off is good, however, the heel is too soft. However, the forefoot has broken in nicely after about 30 miles, when I really dig in for a sprint the shoes feel like rockets on my feet! I really liked the Glycerins but never felt that forefoot zip like I feel on the Ghost 9s. Despite loosing the narrow, sock-like toe, fully-padded and secure heel, and the firm but cushioned sweet spot of the Glycerins, I find the Ghosts are more responsive, lighter, and let my feet do most of the work in a good way. Also, the 9s feel great on moderate trail running. I look forward to many more miles in this pair. Only time will tell if I return back to the Glycerin series but for now the Ghosts are working their magic.

After 6 pair of Ghost 8s, the 9s are a different shoe...

    2017/05/02 | Atlanta, GA |

I've only put about 25 miles on the 9s while running in the last pair of 8s I could find, but so far, I'm not thrilled with the 9. Variations have come and gone, but in general the Ghost has been a go-to classic running shoe that's provided me with consistency from racing year-round local 5Ks to training for and completing my first marathon. The downside to Brooks has always been that I can only get 350-ish miles on a pair before the soles are flattened and my mechanics start to take a hit. After running through 6 or 7 pairs of 8s, I couldn't find any more in my size...time to check out the 9. The Ghost 9s are unfortunately not giving me a good first impression, but only for one reason. The toe-box is redesigned (they claim it's bigger, but...) with very hard rubber over the big toe restricting movement in the toe-box. Look at the toe of the 9 v. any prior model and you'll see what I mean. It's literally a pain.

    My feet are happier!

    2017/05/01 | Chesapeake, VA |

I went from Ghost 6 to a GTS-16, that was my first mistake. After some Achilles issues, the 9s is what my feet have been asking for.

I would buy this product again.

    2017/05/01 | Bastrop, TX |

Brooks provides a quality product that really works well for someone with wide feet and provides the needed support for flat feet the pronate. Their shoes are stylish as well. The price is reasonable too.

Finally! A shoe as great as the Glycerin 11!!

    2017/04/29 | WA |

My favorite shoe of all time has been the old Glycerin 11, and I just have not been able to find a shoe that I liked as much that one (I had three pair). But now I think I have! I have put nearly 600 miles on my Ghost 9's, and I couldn't be happier. They are comfortable, soft, responsive, versatile, and durable. Thank you Brooks! I will be buying a second pair shortly.
