    Great shoe for wet weather!

Good shoe for golf, walks in wet weather, a bit bright pink. Would prefer neutral gray tones. Brooks shoes are great.

Great toe box and shoe shape

Great for hiking trails. Waterproof. I love the toe box; my toes do not feel squished as with so many shoes.

Great shoe! But sizing differs from non-GTX Ghost 9

    2017/04/10 | MI |

I really like this shoe but in my experience it does not fit the same as the non-GTX Ghost 9! This shoe fits BETTER than the Ghost 9! Specifically, the non-GTX Ghost 9 presses down on top of my big toes, forcing me to buy a half size larger. This GTX shoe does not have that big toe problem, hooray! So I now own THIS shoe in a size 10, which feels great, and the regular Ghost 9 in a size 10.5, which feels too large overall but I just cannot go smaller due to the big toe issue. So if you're having issues with the regular Ghost 9 pressing down uncomfortably on your big toes (and I know this has been an issue for others, as I read a lot of reviews online while shopping and found several references to people with this big toe problem), this Ghost GTX may be a better fit for you! Also a side note – I am new to Brooks, after many years with another brand, and so far despite this toe thing I really like the Brooks Ghost line – love the look, color options, and the GTX availability!

    Now my favorite sneakers

    2017/04/06 | Garfield, NJ |

I walk, sometimes jog, everyday. Weather does not deter me. I have tried many methods for keeping my feet dry and finally found the Ghost 9! I have used them twice in rainy weather. They work!! My feet stayed dry. I find them to be very comfortable. I have yet to try them during a heavy downpour but so far so good.

    OK but not perfect

    2016/11/21 | PA |

I jog with my dog most mornings and got tired of getting wet socks and toes from the dew on the grass and days with light rain. For the reason I got these shoes - keeping my feet dry – they work really well. Unfortunately, that's about all I can say. My perfect sneaker size is 6.5 wide. Since they don't make these in wide, the customer service person recommended the 7.5. They were WAY too big in the toe area, so I sent them back and ended up with a 7.0. (I will say that the return process was very good and I got the refund for the first pair in a few weeks.) The 7.0 was still slightly too large in the toe area and REALLY tight mid-foot where the laces area. I went out and bought all new VERY thin socks (I guess I'll have cold feet this winter) and loosened the laces all the way and they are still tighter than I like, but I can tolerate them. The heel also rubs sometimes and causes a bleeding blister. Doesn't happen all the time, just with certain socks. Now that I've "broken" them in for about 2 months, they are better, but still not the most comfortable running shoe I've owned. For the price (about double what I normally pay for sneakers), I'm a little disappointed. I was hoping for the "perfect, comfy" sneaker that I would want to wear everywhere. Instead, I got a sneaker that I reserve just for my morning walk/jog so my feet stay dry. The quality seems very good, but I wish they were more comfortable.

    Great shoe!

I was tired of having cold feet during Michigan winter runs. Bought these after a cold, windy race and have enjoyed running in these ever since. Probably going to buy another pair for this winter. Great shoe for XC meets in the rain!

    moisture vulnerability!

    2016/10/08 | east tennessee |

Working in a nursery full time, when I water, I'm not at all certain that the goretex is effective; socks and feet still come out wet. Could it be sweat from the goretex? Did I pay an extra $40 for inauthenticity?

    Love, Love, Love these shoes!

    2016/08/05 | Greensboro, NC |

They are extremely comfortable for waterproof shoes. I have tried other trail shoes that were water resistant and found them to be uncomfortable and heavy causing my legs to be sore at the end of the day. Even a few ounces over make a difference. I'm not a runner but belong to a hiking group that walks from 3 to 5 miles once a week and also walk a Dobe 3 to 4 times a week. Most of the trails I walk are heavily rooted and I need a really good pair of shoes to negotiate the roots. Hiking shoes are heavy and rigid and tend to make my legs sore. Even a few ounces over makes a difference. I prefer Trail running shoes which are much lighter and allows me more flexibility when negotiating roots. I love the running shoes I have but they are not waterproof, no fun walking in wet grass early in the morning. These shoes run pretty much true to size, I ordered a half size larger to wear with thicker socks since I plan on using them for the winter months. When I tested them, I used my regular socks and they were still comfortable. I do not plan on walking in the rain with these shoes buy will try wet grass next week.
