Additional Information

The Ghost 7 is a triple threat of balance, cushion, and lightweight materials. Hitting the sweet spot for millions of runners, this neutral running shoe for women gives you the stuff to kick back for miles on end, or lean in and pick up the pace. We’ve maintained the horseshoe-shaped crash pad, full ground contact, and omega grooves in the forefoot for the super-smooth heel-to-toe transition runners love. We’ve improved the multi-award-winning Ghost by making it smoother and lighter. BioMoGo DNA in the midsole offers adaptive cushioning while staying more flexible. Bigger lugs in the forefoot make the Ghost feel more responsive as you run. And the look? More modern while remaining technical, thanks to the Ghost’s signature color-shift chevron and no-sew overlays. The Ghost may scare off the competition, but it’s plenty friendly to your feet.

I tried different Brooks running shoes (some of which are more highly recommended by Runner's World), and found that the Ghost shoes work best for my feet. I am a marathon runner. They give me the support I need for my feet. I have never been tested-this is based on self-experimentation. But, I have sone quite a few races and have been successful with these shoes. My only problem with these shoes is they seem to wear out quickly. I know it's time to replace them when my knees start to hurt. Currently, I have two Ghost 6 and two Ghost 7 and I rotate my shoes becuase I run 5 days per week. The last Ghost 6 I purchase (mid-summer) is losing its support ability and will need to be replaced soon. I also run on uneven pavement and "groomed" unpaved trails, and these shoes give me the support I need on these surfaces.

Don't mistake me: this is a very good shoe. I started training in these a bit less than a month ago, alternating with my old shoes to avoid blisters (an unnecessary precaution since these are a great fit - no chafing or rubbing anywhere, lovely and light).
However: even though I have hardly trained with them yet, the lining around the ankles is already worn through. I have never had that problem on my previous shoe. I cannot believe after 6 or seven shortish (between 5 and 20k) runsthe lining should already be giving way.

This is my first running shoe that does not stand friction. Taking it back to the store tomorrow. A real pity, apart from that, I loved these shoes

    Comments about Ghost 7:

These shoes are the most comfortable, light weight shoes I have ever walked in, Unfortunatley, they also wore down quicker than any shoe I have ever owned. I am hoping it was a flaw in just that pair of shoes and I am trying them again. Hoping for success, because they are so comfortable!

        Comments about Ghost 7:

These are my 2nd pair of Brooks shoes (both Ghost)- I got my first pair after visiting a store that looked at my running style and measured my foot, and they fit me so much better than any ever had before! I have both an extremely wide foot and a high arch, so it's hard for me to find something that's wide enough without being too long. These have the option of ordering a wider width, and they leave room for my arch that others don't.
I had worn my last ones down and it was time for a new pair. I am not currently in good running shape, and I put them on intending to go for a walk, and found myself running instead. I couldn't help it - they felt so light and springy! They actually made me want to run.

          Comments about Ghost 7:

This is my first pair of Brooks, so far I've run about 15 miles in them and they are comfortable. I have to lace my shoes much different to accommodate my high instep, but they are comfortable on my feet. The toe box is wider than an M width in most running shoes, to which I am not complaining. I do not have a true 'Wide' width but having the extra room makes my foot happy. Hopefully these hold up as well as my Asics, I put over 400 miles on them.
