Additional Information

The Ghost 7 is a triple threat of balance, cushion, and lightweight materials. Hitting the sweet spot for millions of runners, this neutral running shoe for men gives you the stuff to kick back for miles on end, or lean in and pick up the pace. We’ve maintained the horseshoe-shaped crash pad, full ground contact, and omega grooves in the forefoot for the super-smooth heel-to-toe transition runners love. We’ve improved the multi-award-winning Ghost by making it smoother and lighter. BioMoGo DNA in the midsole offers adaptive cushioning while staying more flexible. Bigger lugs in the forefoot make the Ghost feel more responsive as you run. And the look? More modern while remaining technical, thanks to the Ghost’s signature color-shift chevron and no-sew overlays. The Ghost may scare off the competition, but it’s plenty friendly to your feet.

I loved the Ghost 4 , the 5's did not work for me at all and the 6's were fantastic, light, bouncy and a joy to run in.

Let me start out by saying the 7's have a wide toebox, that works for me because I always wear a 12 EE in the Ghost's and this time I had to send them back to get a regular width and they fit fine, so I'm not sure if this shoe will work for everyone depending on your width.

The cushioning is now very soft which may appeal to a wider range of runners however it does not have the bounce and rebound of the 4's and the 6's. They no longer have that sweet spot that made the Ghost stand apart from the pack. That euphoric feeling you get when running in the Ghost is a thing of the past. And I miss it. When I run my daily 5 miles , they feel very comfortable and now very soft, but not very responsive like the previous Ghost models. It is now just a cushioned shoe that feels alot like other brands.

It is still a great high mileage comfortable shoe, it just no longer stand's out as being awesome like the previous models. Hopefully the 8's will bring back that loving feeling that is now gone.

I purchased these at the same time as the Ghost 6 and use both for a week alternating days. The third set of days I did 6 miles in the Ghost 6 and then the next day did 6 miles in the Ghost 7. I now have two huge blisters on both feet from the 7s. The blisters are in the middle of my foot opposite the arches. I just cannot use these they are too uncomfortable. I returned them and purchased another set of Ghost 6. Not sure what I will do when all the 6s are sold out. Maybe I will switch to a different brand because I just cannot use the 7s.

    Comments about Ghost 7:

I began running and competing in Triathlons about 4 years ago after a decade plus on the couch. Tried the Ghost 6 as a recomendation and LOVED them. Bought the Cascadia 9's for a Trail 1/2 marathon and they are great as well. I recently bought the Ghost 7's to mix in to my road work and they are another winner. They are light and comfortable and I'm hoping they wear as well as the Ghost 6's have for me. The only con is they can lose the bright green accents, ugly. I'm a 40 y.o. Male 190lbs run 20-30 miles per week.

      Comments about Ghost 7:

This shoe is a step in the wrong direction from the Ghost 6. I thought the 6 was one of the best shoes I've ever ran in. These 7's are stiff and do not ride near as well. I run 25 miles a week and have been waiting for these to "break in" but it hasnt happened. The transition from heel to toe is not near as smooth as previous Ghosts. Very dissapointed. I just oredered a pair of 6's in my size before they are gone.

        Comments about Ghost 7:

The Ghost 7 has become my go-to shoe for my long runs. I read somewhere that the sign of a great shoe is that you rarely think about it when running. This is the case with the Ghost 7 -- it has the right mix of cushioning and firmness required for the long haul. The reduced weight when compared with the Ghost 6 is a plus and they have improved the feel of the forefoot cushioning in my opinion.

          Comments about Ghost 7:

This is my first pair of Ghosts. I've previously had the Switch 2 and the Defyance 6. This is also the first pair of men's running shoes I've purchased, but the women's model was very narrow...so I have these.

The quality of these shoes is not what I'm used to from Brooks. I had to cover the tongue with first aid tape because the mesh that covers it is unfinished and was giving me blisters. I had to cut several hanging strings from the tongue area also. The area that holds the shoelaces has sharp edges and little strings hanging off of it. Finally, I had to buy new laces because the ones that come with the shoe are too short.

Would happily take these back, but unfortunately bought from a store that does not allow returns, only exchanges and they had no other shoe that came close to fitting me. Very disappointed in these shoes.

          Comments about Ghost 7:

          Height: 5'6", Weight: 126, Avg Mileage/Week: 30-45 miles

I bought the Ghost 7 the week it came out and have put about 100 miles on them. I've been a big fan of Brooks since I started running marathons in 2012. The Ghost 3 & 5 were comfortable and perfect for those long distance runs; however, the Ghost 7 isn't living up to those previous models. I do find it interesting that some of the reviewers loved the even number models while I preferred the odd number ones. I tried the 4 & 6 and did not like them at all.

While the 7 does have great cushioning in the back, the forefoot leaves my feet sore after a good 15-20 mile run. Great for heel strikers, but I land on my forefoot and for some reason it's not giving me the cushioning I need. It also feels a bit heavy which greatly impacts my pace. Maybe it's because I've been training in more minimalist shoes this past year, but those wore out much faster on my distance runs which is why I went back to the Ghost for my marathon training.

On the positive side, they've helped minimize my supination. Also, I have a wide foot and the regular width fits perfectly.
