Additional Information

The light, bouncy, and balanced ride of the Ghost has haunted the dreams of many competitors -- and it's about to get frighteningly good. We've taken the transition from silky to ridiculously smooth by removing the midfoot shank and creating full ground contact from heel to toe. The underfoot gets even more love with a horseshoe Segmented Crash Pad that wraps the heel from medial to lateral sides and articulates the laydown. What does all that mean? Looking as good as it feels, you'll fall in love with this friendly ghost.

We’re not the only people who have fallen in love: Runner’s World® named the Ghost 6 "Editor’s Choice" in the Fall Shoe Guide in their September 2013 issue… the fourth straight Ghost to earn the honor. They called out the new forefoot overlays welded on rather than stitched, but really loved “how fluidly the shoe rolls from heel-strike to toe-off." In short, the Ghost 6 offers "a sweet balance of weight, cushioning, and everyday durability" – and the editors say "The lightest Ghost we've seen leaves nothing out." Can you say "Four-peat"? Spooky good.

First pair of Ghost 6 after 2 pairs of Ghost 5. Use for work (ER staff) and for jogging 10-15 miles per week on gravel and pavement. Have narrow feet so limited on color choice in B width but color is OK not great. Best feature is the low price now that there is a newer model available. Compared to the Ghost 5 these seem to make my feet sweat more and more smelly. Same socks and same feet but not as dry and comfy as the 5's. The laces are elasticized which I liked at first but now really dislike as it makes it harder to properly adjust the tension on the laces. I like to cinch down the middle part of the shoe and leave it looser near the top. I find myself untying and either loosening or tightening them a few times a day at work. For jogging they are excellent as expected and not a huge change from the Ghost 5. Bottom line: if you liked the Ghost 5 you will probably like these also. Only down side is the laces and ventilation seems not as good. I will probably move on the the Ghost 7 when these wear out to see if they are better in these areas.

The fit and feel of this shoe is good. The problem I have with it is that it's to firm on impact for my liking. I currently run in it and the Saucony Triumph 10. The Triumph has a much softer feel on impact than the Ghost. The Ghost however in most other areas outshines the Triumph. I just wish it had a softer feel on impact. Perhaps that's just a personal preference, but I like my cushioned shoes to feel softer. Wish it was as soft as the Triumph, hands down it be the better shoe.

    Comments about Ghost 6:

I am a baseball player and train indoors during the off season. When doing throwing routines I often drag my right toe which wears out the front of my shoe quickly. It is quite expensive when u wear a pair of shoes out every month, but the comfort of the Brooks running shoes makes it worth the extra money.

    Comments about Ghost 6:

I am a huge fan of Glycerin line, I've own four pairs 8-11. Since I've started to peel back my mileage, I decided to go with Ghosts 6 instead, it was a bad idea. The toe box is so tight I developed a corn in my right pinky toe and now have blisters and calluses all over my fee. I worked so hard and ridding my self of hurting feet after switching from ASIC shoes, now I'm back to the aching arches. The toe box is stitched too narrow. However, they do feel light and responsive and have the quality that I expect from Brooks, should at $120. I will definitely be returning to the Glycerin series after this one is finished out.

The Brooks Ghost is a great shoe --- comfortable and wears well. I really like the large toe box. The shoe fits comfortably, but has that extra room in the toe box to prevent cramping.

          Comments about Ghost 6:

Most comfortable shoes I've had in a long time. I also think I've needed a more neutral shoe than I've been running in for a long time. These feel really well balanced. The heal to toe transition is really spot on smooth and cushioned. My knees don't suffer in these shoes..finally! I'm a cyclist most of the time but used to be a runner. These shoes let me love running again!
