Additional Information

Not all runners are created equal. Luckily, the Dyad 8 meets the needs of unique feet from orthotic-devotees to flat-footed ladies. Built on a linear platform, this crazy comfortable trainer doesn’t over-complicate sometimes complicated feet. The women’s Dyad 8 running shoe now includes BioMoGo DNA in the midsole for a lighter, more flexible shoe, no-sew suede overlays for added structure without added stitching, and a plusher in-shoe feel.

This shoe has firm arch support and the thickest cushioning of any shoe I've bought - a nice plus since I'm often on harder surfaces. Runs slightly small so get half to full size larger, especially if you wear thicker socks. The only con, in my case, is poor metatarsal support. Since I, like many with flat arches, can experience metatarsalgia(burning in ball of feet), a good motion control/stability shoe that augments arch support with a metatarsal rise is a nice find. This shoe has the first, not the second. The shoe's firm arch support effectively distributes weight to the front of the foot. Since the front part of insole is flat although nicely cushioned, metatarsal pain is made more acute without support. If you have no issue with ball of foot pain, this shoe would very likely work for you. My favorite shoe is still the GTS 14 -- I should've just picked up a second pair vs. going for the newer Dyad 8. I WOULD recommend this shoe to anyone who needs motion control without issues with metatarsal pain.

    Comments about Dyad 8:

The fit is very good for my foot...ample toe box and narrow heel. The way they lace seems to keep my foot is a good position. I also like the new shoelaces. Because of elasticity there is no need to double tie. Thanks for the pair for my Dyad 7's.

    Comments about Dyad 8:

I was referred to our local running shop by my doctor and there the staff specifically recommended this shoe. They're great! Narrower than the other brand I was using, great cushioning, gives me extra bounce round the track. Having just moved to the US, this is my first pair of Brooks (why don't they sell them more widely in Europe?!) and I will definitely get more. One slight gripe though - why the dull colours?

    Comments about Dyad 8:

I have used the Dyad 7 for several years (went through several pairs) but can no longer find this shoe so I purchased the Dyad 8 thinking it would be close. Not even... way too narrow especially in the toe box area. I have blisters on both feet, one on the back of my heel and the other at the bottom of my heel. Very odd, I have never had that happen before. I am slowly getting used to these but I will surely not buy this shoe again!!

    Comments about Dyad 8:

I'm a super heavy walker, and just did my 1st 8k in these shoes and they rocked. My only disappointment is that I can't have a nice color selection in these shoes like all the other styles have.

      Comments about Dyad 8:

I am very grateful that Brooks continues to make this great shoe year after year. I have hard to fit feet -- can't wear shoes with too much arch support, or too much structure. These shoes fit me like they were made for me. Just enough arch support, good cushioning, plenty of room in the toe box. I've been wearing generations of Dyads for years. I buy a new pair every 6 months and use them for running only, moving the old pair to use for lower impact workouts like the bike and elliptical. Love the 8, like the new styling, and that there was adjustments to the side stitching which I found in the Dyad 7 rubbed my outer toe. Big fan!
