My body type is what you'd imagine a natural linebacker, so not a natural runner. But I have run several marathons, and put on a fair number of road miles each week. I'm on my twentieth pair of Dyads, a shoe which took me from running 8.5 miles on a long run to comfortably hitting high teens.

I was disappointed with the styling of the Dyad 6, and let Brooks know about it, because they looked like a Fisher-Price-spaceman-shoe. The Dyad 7 is a revelation, and the best running shoe I have ever used. Brooks finally - finally! - fixed the sliding tongue issue, which had been plaguing the Dyad line for years. That alone makes these a worthwhile upgrade. The styling is great, and they seem more durable than the previous generation. They're more comfortable overall, and breathe quite well.

I very highly recommend the Brooks Dyad 7. The previous generations were all great running shoes, and these build on a great tradition by providing more comfort, more durability, better styling, and a tongue that finally stays in place. Best running shoe I have ever used.

The shoe is a great fit and very comfortable however, I have had the shoes less than 30 days and there is already a hole in both of the shoes around my large toe. I have only worn the shoes about 8 times. This happened to my last pair as well. very disappointed in the quality for the price of the shoe.

    • Durable
    • Good Arch Support
    • Good Traction
    • Orthotic Bliss
    • Pronation Control

    Best Uses

    • Dry Weather
    • Gym
    • Walking
    • With Orthotics/Inserts
    • Work

Recommended by podiatrist for use with orthotics. I've got a very bad knee and ankle. Ran for far too long, wore beasts. Now have thick soft orthotics and these shoes have made all the difference. I couldn't walk to the shops due to ankle and knee pain. These shoes had an immediate impact. Definitely the go if you use orthotics. I've got flat, wide feet and the 2E works well, buy to suit your width. Hard to get in Australia, so I now get them from the U.S. Great shoe, now walking 8ks x4 per week. Thanks!

Do Not Wash - Will Shrink

    By shalbleib

    About Me Casual/ Recreational

    Pros

    • Comfortable
    • Cushions Impact
    • Good Traction
    • Lightweight

    Cons

      Best Uses

Very comfortable, good support for low activity - bought them or bartending. My only issue was that when I washed them, they shrank a half size. Brooks wouldn't take them back so I had to order another pair. Pricey to replace for washing. I ordered a half size larger this time.

        Best Uses

At the age of 54, I just started running last year,, slowly,, built up to 5k's walk/run,, still building up to where I can run my 1st one nonstop,, but I started with the D6's, and now the D7's,, I have extremely flat, narrow, size 13 feet. At 6 feet, 205, this has been a great shoe, I have tried other Brooks & not been happy because of the high arch. But couldn't be happier with the Dyad series.

          Great feel, not long lasting

After about 6 months of wear, have holes around both big toes. Have worn other brands for years without that kind of wear. I really like these shoes, but for what they cost I feel they should hold up a little better. I am not a runner, mainly wear these shoes for work and everyday use.
