Additional Information

Born and raised to run the trail, the Cascadia 9 loves to get down and gritty. Tackle tricky terrain with 4-point pivot posts that balance like an SUV's independent suspension system and protect those paws with the ballistic rock shield underfoot. No-sew construction brings comfort sans weight and a BioMoGo DNA midsole adapts cushioning to not only your feet, but also the surfaces of adventure. Enhancements like a slightly lowered heel and flat laces equip this next generation Cascadia for the call of the wild.

We’re not the only people wild about the Cascadia 9. Runner’s World Magazine named the shoe “Editor’s Choice” in their April 2014 issue. The editors called the Cascadia “a workhorse”, noting that “it provides a supportive yet flexible ride on diverse trail surfaces and is great for running on snowy pavement.” Oh, and they also noted that the Cascadia 9 “looks as good with jeans as it does on singletrack trails.” Aw, shucks.

Please note: The Cascadia is designed as a trail running shoe. While a lot of people love it as a fastpacking and thru-hiking shoe while carrying ultralight gear; the Cascadia is not pack-rated and may not hold up to the extra weight and demands of long pack hikes. We’re your go-to option for trail runs, but a sturdy hiking boot may be better suited for heavy packs.

    Just not quite right

I've worn a size 8 in every Brooks shoe I've ever worn, this one was a full size too big. A bit wide in the toe box, which would normally be fine with my inserts, but even with them in there was still too much room. The arch support is pretty much nonexistant. It was a nice looking shoe and I wish it would have fit right.

While the pictures on the website are very helpful, the first time I saw a description of the color was on my shipping notification. If you are wondering, these shoes are considered "Vintage Indigo/Midnight/Marine Blue".

Disclaimer: while I am a runner, I stay away from off-road running (ankle issues) and only use trail runners for hiking. Just got my first pair of Cascadias, and I don't know why I ever wore anything else. They are comfortable, and the traction is better than any other shoe I've tried. Just wish they came in a Gore-Tex version with an upper that could better shrug off wet/muddy conditions.

These shoes are amazing! I have the 7,8, and now the cascdia 9s. These are a bit more narrow than previous models, but having a narrow foot, I am ok with that!
Per the usual, I wear a half size larger for running. But, since these are a bit more slim, I don't feel like i'm wearing boats on my feet.
Brooks puts out some fantastic running shoes! However, the cascadias are my favorite. I love the suction cup feeling when I am on wet terrain, and mud.
THE best shoes I have ever, and will ever put on my feet.

I love Cascadia. I have had 2 pair of Cascadia 7. Tried on the 8, they were too wide for my narrowish feet, not enough support either. I run Mtn. biking trails lots of hills. I need lots of support. I was worried a little that these 9's weren't going to support my feet. No worry...they are my favorite shoe so far and I have been running the trails for several years now. I just lace them up tight and I have all the support I need, plus they are light weight. I also like the fact that the heel is lower, no more stress on my hamstring's as before. I also run on cement trails occasionally when it's too wet, they are great for that too.
