Please let 1 shoe stay wide in the toe box

Age: 24 - 150 lbs - 5'9" - 60 miles a week Dear Brooks, Please bring back the wide toe box -I completely disagree with the desires for shoes to be narrower. Age: 24 - 150 lbs - 5'9" - 60 miles a week Dear Brooks, Please bring back the wide toe box -I completely disagree with the desires for shoes to be narrower. I have had 3 pairs of the caldera 1 and loved them because of the width. I understand that many people enjoy a crampt/narrow shoe, however there are dozens of narrow shoes and very few good shoes for those of us who enjoy more room. I have about 100 miles on this pair, using them as a secondary shoe to preserve my last pair of caldera 1's and still enjoy them. This may seem contradictory to say that I still enjoy this shoe, however there are tons of shoes exactly like this on the market. -Things that I enjoy about the caldera 1&2 and hope to see more of in the future: 1. the better use of tread and cushion to negate the need of a rock plate. 2. The cushioned yet somewhat responsiveness 3. The versatility. I can go all day in this shoe, regardless of the terrain, distance or pace. - I love brooks shoes and have worn dozens of pairs over the last 10 years, but I hate to say that this is what brooks does best; create a completely new and revolutionary shoe for those like myself, but then completely change everything different about it in the second model. To conclude, this model 2 is a good shoe if you are looking for the same old and good brooks, but if you had found a new love in the Caldera 1's, like I had, I'm sad to say it is gone. (Mostly just in terms of the wider toe-box) Read More

Hi! Can you give me a quick comparison between the Caldera and the Cascadia? Stiffness, cushioning, fit, tread pattern, intended trail conditions? Which would be better for occasional hiking in addition to trail running? Thanks!

Hi Rob! The Caldera is a super cushioned shoe whereas the Cascadia is a moderate cushioning shoe! The stiffness is about the same, as well as the fit! The Cascadia has a little more aggressive tread so it will be better on more technical trails! Brooks Running Read More

What are the differences/improvements to the Caldera 2 from the first generation model. I loved the low drop and cushioning in the shoe of the first generation model but I felt it to be unstable and prone to turning my ankle in it compared to the tried and true Cascadia--which is a little stiff for my liking on longer runs. Thanks!

What are the updates to the Caldera 2 over the Caldera 1?

2017/12/29 Spokane, WA Harlan

Hi Harlan! The new Caldera 2 has an improved upper! It will give you a better fit around your foot! Especially in the midfoot!

I wear a 12 wide in Brooks Glycerin. And I'm quite happy with that I just picked up a pair of these in 12 you do not have wide in any Trail shoe if I go a half size bigger is the shoe going to be wider or only longer thank you

2017/12/26 Arizona randall

We do not have any trail shoes that come in a wide size. The bigger size will be slightly wider, around 2mm.

How is the sizing of the new version in comparison to the original? Have ANY changes been made?

2017/12/20 Muskegon, MI The Postman

The sizing will be the same as the original. The only big change has been a re-designed upper mesh.
