    Toe box has gotten narrower

    2016/12/20 | Salt Lake City, Utah |

I have had 4 previous models of the Adrenaline ASR, reaching back over probably a dozen years. Through many appearance changes, the overall fit has stayed remarkably constant, and ideal for my purposes (trail running on moderate to rugged trails). I was disappointed to find that with this (great looking) version, the toe box seems noticeably less roomy: too narrow to even be worth trying on a run before returning (somewhat hard to believe that this shoe isn't available on the shelf from any of the regular Brooks purveyors here in Salt Lake City...I had mail ordered these, which is not my preference for shoe buying). The heel fit also seemed a little loose, so the reverse of the secure heel / roomy fit that I had previously experienced right out of the box. Combination did not give me confidence that a half size up would solve my fit issues, so am going to try other options. Otherwise, this seems to be a very well built shoe, and looks to have solved the out-sole issues mentioned below (my most recent pair, a "12" did shed some bits at the heel, but those shoes are still fine for a run other than getting the mid-sole compression expected after many good miles). I hope Brooks widens that toe box back out and that I get another crack at running in them.

Much better sole than the ASR 12! Good Job. Love it

    2016/10/15 | San Antonio, TX |

ASR 13 is a Great Shoe, an improvement over previous models. The green ASR 12 that a previous reviewer posted is the old style. My 12's shredded by 200 miles. The 13 new sole has lasted 500 miles and still has much more to give, but to be safe I'm buying another pair before they go flat. Thank You for listening Brooks! The rest of the ASR 13 shoe is excellent in fit and function like previous ones. Even the front toe area has holds up and does not come unglued. The 1st 150 miles on these was backpacking through mud, rain, snow, ice, and over talus, scree, etc.... After that I put 350+ miles trail running over lava rock, mud, clay, grass, sand, crushed granite, and limestone ledges.

    Yes, I would recommend this!

    Do NOT buy these shoes!!!

    2016/08/23 | Glenwood Springs, CO |

I use these shoes for trail running. I have had my pair less than a month and have put less that 50 miles on them. Even though they are very comfortable, the tread is already falling off in chunks - literally. I bought the same shoe this past May and the same thing happened to them with less than 125 miles on them. The entire back heel of the tread fell off while running. You do not want to be in the middle of your long trail run when your new pair of expensive shoes falls apart. Brooks should recall all of these shoes and issue everyone a refund. DO NOT BUY THESE SHOES - VERY POOR QUALITY!!
