I have been wearing the "old style" Addiction Walker for some time now. I need to wear otrhotics in my shoes and over pronate badly. The "old style" was not very well padded and the tongue kept shifting to the side. However, they fit my orthotics well and their shape contours nicely to the shape of your foot. People who wear otrthotics already have a foot problem and many times is accompanied by chronic pain. Cushioning is an issue!! I recently went on a search to find a more cushioned shoe. I found some other brands were much more cushioned for around the same price. Funny thing.....neither one fit like the Brooks Addiction Walker. I needed shoes so I bought another pair of Addictions. It's the only shoe I can wear and I wear them 24/7. To my surprise changes had been made in the "new style!!" I love the cushioning and the new features so please leave this shoe alone now! Please keep in mind people with medical conditions truly need the cushioning. You have no idea what a gift COMFORT is for us.

With the recent style change, the material now used to line the tongue is slick and it slides to the side. I find myself constantly adjusting the tongue back to "center" it. I never had this issue with the old style. I wear these shoes daily to help alleviate a nerve problem in my foot, which requires a very sturdy shoe that does not flex. Aside from the tongue problem, it's a great shoe.

Comments about Addiction Walker:

Very disappointed when I received my brooks walker shoes in white color. they are not white, they are tan and they are calling them white. they look exactly like the tan colored ones that is another choice of color. I called and they told me they changed their white color 3 years ago, funny thing is that I had bought a pair 2 years ago and they where pure white, so if you want pure white, do not order these, they are tan.

    Comments about Addiction Walker:

I am 57 years old, am 5'4", and weigh 170 lbs. I have very flat feet and have long had foot problems. Walking is my main exercise, so shoes with motion control are extremely important. I've tried Ryka shoes and my last two pairs of walking shoes have been New Balance WW928. I read good reviews about the Brooks Addiction Walking shoes and decided to give them a try, and I'm really glad I did, as they give me better stability and motion control than the New Balance shoes I've worn in the past. I usually have to use my own arch supports, but so far I've been fine with the arch supports the shoes came with. I find the Addition Walker comfortable, and I like the shape of the toe box part of the shoe (less clunky than my New Balance shoes). I wish motion control shoes came in fun colors, but that may be too much to hope for! But for that, the Addiction Walker is a winner to me. I hope they prove to be durable as well.

      Comments about Addiction Walker:

I needed all black (or white) shoes for nursing school which would comfortably allow me to walk or stand for up to 12 hours. In my old life, I ran a half marathon and wore the Brooks Addiction running shoe and loved them. Thankfully the same shoe came in all black in a walking shoe version. These are definitely not much to look at, but they are absolutely the most comfortable shoes I've ever owned. After a 24 hour shift on the floor my feet, legs and back felt great and I'm confident it was because of the amazing support and pronation control of these shoes.
They're slightly heavier than I'd like, but I understand that is the difference between a running and a walking shoe.

            Comments about Addiction Walker:

I have very high arches and my feet roll to the outside with every step. I own 3 pairs of these sneakers and wear them every day... at work, home, walking, to the gym, biking to/from work. I can be on my feet all day. If I wear anything else, I am in pain and fatigued after an hour. I can wear these for hours right out of the box. I replace them every 4-6 months.

Since my other pairs stretched out with use, I went down a half size this time. They are perfect... except the laces on this size are too short (ladies 9 wide). I have to tie a single knot - that's all I have length to do!

Love these shoes, but they can be slippery in wet and icy conditions - they won't stay on my bike pedals when they are wet, and they don't grip well on rain/ice. But this has not been a problem; I wear something else those days.

Thanks for a great shoe. They have honestly made a huge difference in my life. Highly, highly recommend.
