I have been wearing the "old style" Addiction Walker for some time now. I need to wear otrhotics in my shoes and over pronate badly. The "old style" was not very well padded and the tongue kept shifting to the side. However, they fit my orthotics well and their shape contours nicely to the shape of your foot. People who wear otrthotics already have a foot problem and many times is accompanied by chronic pain. Cushioning is an issue!! I recently went on a search to find a more cushioned shoe. I found some other brands were much more cushioned for around the same price. Funny thing.....neither one fit like the Brooks Addiction Walker. I needed shoes so I bought another pair of Addictions. It's the only shoe I can wear and I wear them 24/7. To my surprise changes had been made in the "new style!!" I love the cushioning and the new features so please leave this shoe alone now! Please keep in mind people with medical conditions truly need the cushioning. You have no idea what a gift COMFORT is for us.

With the recent style change, the material now used to line the tongue is slick and it slides to the side. I find myself constantly adjusting the tongue back to "center" it. I never had this issue with the old style. I wear these shoes daily to help alleviate a nerve problem in my foot, which requires a very sturdy shoe that does not flex. Aside from the tongue problem, it's a great shoe.

    Comments about Addiction Walker:

I have worn Brooks Walkers for years. However I have found in the past 2 years the quality has not been as reliable. I just received my current pair pair 2 weeks ago and the rubber toe cover on one of them is already starting to peel. I used to be able to easily get 6 months out of my shoes with my walking program and now about 4 months and my program hasn't changed.

Also it would be nice if the suede option for men was available for women or something similar.

I do still get benefit from the arch support, the pronation control and the overall comfort. They have been the only shoes I could wear comfortably during my acute bout of plantar fasciitis. Just wished the quality control was better.

    Comments about Addiction Walker:

Wear these shoes all day and for exercise walking. I only change into (slightly) dressier shoes when I go out for shopping/restaurant, etc.

These are the only shoes in the world that accomodate all the problems I have with my feet (fallen arches, bunions, hammertoe, etc.) so that I can walk 3 - 4 miles/day with my dogs on pavement or afield and do not suffer any consequences. They last me about 6 months. They can be slippery on wet / icy slick surfaces, but not that big of a problem

    Comments about Addiction Walker:

I got these because I walk a lot and need really supportive, comfortable walking shoes. I almost didn't buy them, because they are UGLY. I knew that going in, but I'm hoping the comfort will keep me wearing them even though I'm almost embarrassed to do so.

A brownish color option would have been great.

My other Brooks (Glycerines) offer the perfect support and cushion to run a half marathon, and the Addiction Walkers feel like I'm wearing cement blocks for shoes. I couldn't even walk around the house with them. Terribly uncomfortable in every way.
