I have been wearing the "old style" Addiction Walker for some time now. I need to wear otrhotics in my shoes and over pronate badly. The "old style" was not very well padded and the tongue kept shifting to the side. However, they fit my orthotics well and their shape contours nicely to the shape of your foot. People who wear otrthotics already have a foot problem and many times is accompanied by chronic pain. Cushioning is an issue!! I recently went on a search to find a more cushioned shoe. I found some other brands were much more cushioned for around the same price. Funny thing.....neither one fit like the Brooks Addiction Walker. I needed shoes so I bought another pair of Addictions. It's the only shoe I can wear and I wear them 24/7. To my surprise changes had been made in the "new style!!" I love the cushioning and the new features so please leave this shoe alone now! Please keep in mind people with medical conditions truly need the cushioning. You have no idea what a gift COMFORT is for us.

With the recent style change, the material now used to line the tongue is slick and it slides to the side. I find myself constantly adjusting the tongue back to "center" it. I never had this issue with the old style. I wear these shoes daily to help alleviate a nerve problem in my foot, which requires a very sturdy shoe that does not flex. Aside from the tongue problem, it's a great shoe.

    Comments about Addiction Walker:

10 years ago I developed plantar fasciitis. After seeing a podiatrist, insoles, steriod shot, etc these addiction walker shoes have been the ONLY relief I have found. I think I have bought 10 pairs by now. I wear no other tennis shoe now since these shoes support my foot and keep the pain from returning. So thankful to have found them and I hope they never change their design.

      leather stretches

        Comments about Addiction Walker:

I wore a 9 1/2 Mens for years (several pairs), but then they began to slip off my heel because the leather stretched, so I got an 11 1/2 Narrow woman's shoe which felt great for about 3 months until it started to stretch. I thought it was just an anomaly so I got another pair. It is beginning to do the same thing. I have a narrow heel; why can't shoes be made that way? I like the pronation support on Addictions but want a narrower heel, so the shoe does not always feel like it is about to fall off.

            Comments about Addiction Walker:

My mom recommended these shoes to me when I moved away for college - walking to and from class multiple times a day proved her recommendation right. I now wear these shoes in black for my job, which requires me to be on my feet for 9-10 hours a day. The support of these shoes is unmatched, in my opinion; the only thing I would change would be increased traction. I've been a Brooks Addiction Walker shoe wearer for 8 years and will continue to wear them everyday!

Standing and walking for hours. The inner sole needs more cushioning, feels very hard after a while being in the shoe. Definitely needs to be skid and slip resistant.

              Comments about Addiction Walker:

As I commented earlier, I like the shoe, but with my last few orders I've begged for longer laces. Seven sets of holes, wide gap, padded tongue—60 inches is not long enough and gives me a bow about one inch wide and no slack. I would be happy to pay extra for longer laces. I just bought 72-inch replacement laces that aren't the right color and don't work as well, but I can tie them. I tried requesting longer laces when I placed the order, but. . . .
