Additional Information

The fit and feel of a running shoe in a casual everyday walker? What's not addictive about that? The new Addiction™ Walker now comes with durable, energy-returning MoGo midsole cushioning, a more supple full-grain leather upper, strong support, and reliable slip-resistant outsole. This shoe provides sturdy support mile after mile by supporting low arches and keeping pronation under control.

The Addiction Walker is also available with V-Strap closures -- just like the lace-up version, but with the convenience of hook-and-loop straps to get you out the door in a flash.

I currently work in a profession where I am standing for 8 1/2 hours a day with a half-hour break for lunch so I need something that will be very comfortable for the duration. I searched for what others used for standing all day and read a lot of good reviews about rockports and ordered a pair of those. They were OK but not what I was looking for.

I wanted a pair of the Black Adrenaline GTS's but were out in my size so I decided to try the Addiction. From the moment I put them on I could tell they were much different than the others I have tried. They make my feet a little hotter than I had liked but almost every leather-upper shoe does.

The first day was a little rough because I thought it was a good idea to wear them for the whole day without breaking them in (BIG mistake) but after a couple days I was surprised that my feet/legs didn't hurt anymore. Not to mention they don't really look like running shoes but more as casual dress shoes that go great with my work clothes.

They also absorb a lot of the shock from walking in them all day as well. Not often, but sometimes in my old shoes after a hard morning workout I would have to come home and ice my shins because of the added shock from my old work shoes.

If your looking for a shoe that you can stand in for 8+ hours and still look great in profession clothes then I highly recommend the Brooks Addiction!

I have worn Addiction Walkers for several years because the sole design prevented me from rolling my ankles (outward) and spraining them. I recently ordered two new pairs and noticed that the design of the soles has changed and the new soles actually contribute to ankles rolling outward.

I would not recommend them to anyone with this type of ankle rolling issue.

After the disappearance of their preventive value, the quality of the shoe does not seem to me to be any better than average, although the width choice is a plus.

    Comments about Addiction Walker:

I have three pair of Brooks's Walking shoes (different colors) that I wear 90% of the time. I have feet problems and Brooks makes it possible to be highly active. E.G. I walk 18 holes of golf each day I play and at least 12,000 steps on non-golf days. I have taken lately to adding impact inserts for even greater comfort.

          Comments about Addiction Walker:

I work on a concrete floor in a restaurant. I have had 3 pairs of addiction walkers a few years ago and they helped with decreasing pain in my feet through the day. I bought my 4th pair hoping for the same and they are completely aweful. After 2-3 hrs of working I literally cannot stand on my feet. The insoles are rock hard and the shoes are like walking with bricks around my feet. Any water on the floor feels like you are on ice and after 3 weeks they still have that aweful chemical/plastic smell that hasnt gone away. Brooks told me to get my Gait analyzed to make sure the addiction walkers are right for me. These addictions walkers are not what they used to be in fit, function, or quality. My last pair of Brooks.

          Comments about Addiction Walker:

Very happy with shoes and service. I work long hours on my feet,am a big guy, and have low arches, wide feet and plantar fascitis to boot. My online research all pointed to the Brooks Addiction shoe as a possible solution. I decided to try a pair and am very happy with the purchase so far. Shoes came within a couple of days of my order, which was a pleasant surprise since I live in Hawaii. Hope to purchase more shoes in the future if my present shoes continue to give good service.
