I preferred last year's model

I ordered the previous model sight unseen and was pretty happy with it. I thought at first that it felt low on cushion in the tongue area, but I got used to it and wore them in snow, rain and on hikes.

When I finally decided it was time for a new pair I bought the updated version. Disappointment! Pressure points under the lacing - the shoe store employee had to relace them in a non-standard way several times to avoid pain. Why can't there be more cushioning under the lacing? Also, I'm getting pressure on my middle toes (not the big toe and not the smallest, discomfort after a five mile run) which makes me wonder if the forefoot got pointier.

I love Brooks Adrenaline line! I own at least 3 pairs for the different terrain. Buying the ASR 10 GTX has been so far a great purchase. I can now wear these for ALL my runs! Just did a race this past Thursday and when I came upon the water station the ground was slick but the GRIP on these shoes allowed me to keep on running! If I had one negative thing to say it would be that, if you are used to the regular Adrenaline 13's(as I was) this shoe will feel a little heavier BUT after a few laps I really think you'll like it. :)

I had my 1st 10K this past weekend! Despite going to a specialty running store, I think my old shoes were the wrong size/shape for my feet. I needed a new pair for my race and I wanted waterproof ones since it was suppose to rain... I'm so happy I got these! It rained for about 4 miles of my 10K but my feet never got wet! I even splashed in puddles on the road and my feet stayed dry! These were a lot more comfortable than my old shoes and didn't cause my feet to go numb. I would definitely recommend!

    Adrenaline ASR 10 GTX,

In contrast to this shoe, I love, love the Adrenaline GTS 13 instead. I own several pairs and they are so great for power walking which is my "sport."

Not only are they very cushioning but they have lots of room for my bunion because they have put mesh right in that area, not stiff material.

Brooks told me that this Adrenaline ASR 10 is the same shoe only waterproof. Well, it is way too big in back, behind my heel. I returned it. I am disappointed. It did not fit, sigh.

          Best Uses

Great traction for running trails, but this shoe is so uncomfortable and stiff even after a few runs. There are two spots under the tongue, where the laces meet the tongue of the shoe that are actually painful! I am an avid Brooks shoe fan and have been for years but I am SO disappointed in these shoes.

A little stiffer and heavier than the regular Adrenaline due to the Gore-Tex. Worth it! The GTX makes the shoe waterproof up to a point: you can step down into a shallow puddle, squish through swampy grass, or run during a snowstorm--and your feet stay dry. In heavy rain, water does get inside the shoe from the opening around your ankle. The unexpected benefit, to me, is that the GTX is also wind-resistant. They are great for biking and running in our Great Lakes winters. I wear my normal Brooks size in these, which is 1/2 or 1 size up from dress shoes.

            Don't believe it is waterproof-it isn't.

I was disapointed when I walked in wet grass at a local park to find out that my socks were wet after the walk. I wanted the waterproof feature because I have orthodics and I didn't like them always gettting wet. Well they got wet anyway and it was just wet grass. . . it wasn't raining.
