Brook's Adrenaline ASR 12 GTX is the trail-bound brother of Brook's Trance 12. I'm a 51 year-old runner who appreciates a little more support that usual in a running shoe. I am very happy w/ the support and performance of Brook's Trance 12. However, I needed a little protection from the weather and better traction for off-roads running. Met the ASR 12 GTX, bought them, and am 200% satisfied. These shoes are the most versatile shoes I have owned. Putting the GoreTex feature aside (which is what I was looking for to keep water out of my feet), these shoes perform like any other great trail show and more. I dont' find them particularly heavier than other trail shoes, they breath well, and have that extra level of support and cushion you need for extra long runs. The perform just as well in the street. I love the black/red colors too. Great job Brooks!

This is my second pair of these gtx shoes. if it wasn't for the glue not holding, causing the separation of the sole from the top part, the first pair would have lasted a long time. there was very little wear on the sole. I only walked at the park on moist or wet grass, never in puddles. let's see how this new pair holds up. i like the light weight and they are very comfortable.

I returned these since the toebox was too narrow. . I have the gts 9 to cmpare it to. I plan on getting a new pair of the gts 14 since brooks is great but will try them in before purchasing to ensure sizing. I wish adding goretex to any model was an option. Or perhaps some wider asr options.

I live in eastern PA and we've been dealt a nasty winter with plenty of single digit days and snowfalls. This shoe keeps my wimpy toes warm by blocking out the cold winds and wet snow. I've used this as my daily trainer (replacing the Adrenaline GTS & Ravenna) and they've helped get me through the winter. They also have much better traction than my GT's.
