Additional Information

The name is no coincidence: runners just can't get enough of the tried and true support in the Addiction 11. We maintained its generous DNA-ified ride for cushioning and support that adapts to your needs, and added more in-shoe comfort like a better sockliner and an asymmetrical upper with suede overlays. One run and you'll be hooked.

First of all, let me describe my feet so I can tell you why I like Addiction 11. My feet are extra wide, but not so much muscles/flesh around it (kind of bony), my arch is between low and average but the instep is high. Due to the bony feet, I also bruise easily, and ill fitting shoes gave me swelling and bad circulation while there is no real injury. So I need good shoes that can protect me without impeding my exercise performance.

I tried so many other models and I finally feel that this pair of Addiction 11 offer good protection without compromising comfort and exercise performance. Honestly they are kinda on the heavy side but not too heavy to a point that would hinder my performance. These are also somewhat breathable that they haven't given me any sauna effect on my feet so far.

I am happy that Addiction 11 offers extra wide width! Yeah! Besides, the comfortable cushioning on these Addiction 11 was a pleasant surprise for me! Honestly I didn't plan on trying Addiction 11 until I read a review somewhere else saying these new ones have better cushioning than the version 10. I tried Addiction 10 in a local store and those were too stiff and gave me ankle pain. But these Addiction 11 didn't cause me pain and they aren't stiff. In fact, I feel that Addiction 11 work well in absorbing shock for me that my feet feel well protected in them so far. At least I have no bruising, swelling or no sign of obstruction on my blood flow.

Although the arch support isn't very strong, the design of the shoes as a whole does provide pronation control. I also like that these shoes fit my instep well. I had tried many other models or brands and they often press on the top of my foot restricting blood flow. But I don't have this issue with Addiction 11.

Brooks, I like these a lot and please keep it up. I hope I can continue to find shoes from you that work as good as this one or even better in the future. Thank you.

in the past, I have purchased Brooks Addiction because they had good support and a wide enough toe base for women with long toes. This redesign has narrowed the toes considerably, however, and now I can feel an ingrown toenail forming on both feet, and this is only the second time I've worn them. Why would you do this, Brooks? Do you hate women with toes? Do you think that your shoes must be "feminine", and that feminine means pointy toes? Let's take away the toe room on your own athletic shoes that you actually wear, and see how you like it. I guess I'll be looking elsewhere for athletic shoes from now on.

I started up running again and have been through 4 pairs of shoes, each claiming to be fabulous and this and that. I finally ended up at our local runner's shop and tried these one, I should have went there in the first place. I am a moderate over pronater so these are PERFECT! They offer amazing support and I don't get the shin splints that I had been getting with all of the other shoes. They just feel super sturdy and are very comfortable. I would definitely recommend them and will be buying Brooks in the future!

I'm a very heavy woman with feet that roll sharply outward who was having severe foot pain from walking; particularly from walking the dog.

Multiple x-rays later I learned from the podiatrist that what I thought was a compression fracture was a LACK OF SUPPORT!

The doctor provided me a list of options for shoe models and sent me to a running shop where they watched me walk. We found Brooks to be the best fit and best control. They didn't have wide women's Addictions so I went with the men's, which were not so pretty, but from day one my feet stopped hurting. It was as if a little shoe angel had come and blessed my feet! I would not take them off until I found the all-white walking model (which I'm wearing now) and tried the women's, which fit very well also.

Sooooo... this is my fourth pair and I do find the Addiction 11 the slightest bit tighter across the widest part of my foot, but they are still the best shoes I've ever owned.

They're cute enough, but not terribly feminine and certainly not acceptable for anything but the most casual situations. And they do not keep water out, which is a negative here in the Great Northwest. I find them best for indoors, pavement walking, and using the exercise bike.

I would most like to see some color variety, particularly more feminine colors. A nice purple/lavender or hot pink/pale pink with a light grey would be adorable.

Either way, thank you Brooks, way to go - you saved my tootsies and I'll be forever grateful. I'd love to buy two pair to switch in and out, so roll out those color choices, please please please! I beg you. Really. Seriously. Please.

I have known my whole life I have horrible feet. My doctor recommended orthotics, but I never felt like putting the money out would be worth it. I took the quiz on the website and these shoes showed up. I resented them at first because I wanted a more attractive shoe, but knowing my foot problems, I ordered them anyway. I have been running about 3 miles a day on the treadmill until the weather breaks, and they are absolutely perfect!!! My feet feel stable and my legs feel awesome! I love this shoe!!
