Experience the next best thing to naked feet with the hyper-light PureDrift. Spread those toes with two split grooves that allow your forefoot to flex through its three functional units. A hardly-there upper has a close fit and provides a little more coverage than a birthday suit. When you really want to feel free as a bird, remove the sockliner for a zero drop experience. Feet, meet feel.
Please note: The PureDrift was designed with a wider toe box than other Brooks shoes. If you prefer a more snug fit, size down half a size.
Just like our core line, we hold PureProject to the industry’s highest weartest and durability standards. Because of their lightweight construction and fewer materials, runners should generally expect shoes from the PureProject line to last approximately 250-300 miles.

Before ordering the PureDrift I was running in Merrells- both the dash glove and bare access arc. I used the shoe comparison tool on the Brooks site to help pick out the size to order. Based off the fact that I was wearing a 9.5 in the bare access arc the Brooks site recommended at 9.5 in the PureDrift. I was heart broken when they arrived and were way too big. I should note that I wear an 8.5 in the dash gloves but the tool did not have that shoe in the system for comparison. Even though the shoes were too big they still felt amazing so I went to a local running store and tried on a 9 and then an 8.5 which I ended up buying. I returned the 9.5 back to Brooks. The 8.5 fits amazingly well. I love that the liner is removable for a zero drop shoe but I have kept it in for the added cushioning. These are a great shoe for minimalist runners. However, I should note they are very wide in the toebox which is perfect for me but I could see it being a problem if you had narrow feet. I plan on ordering a second pair. The Brooks kicked the Merrells to the curb! Love them!

I really wanted to love the Drifts. I already own (and love) the Pure Connect2, Pure Grit, and, Pure Grit2. But right out of the box I realized it wasn't going to work. Toe-box looked like the shoes were made for a "hairless hobbit". Think NB wx20BB but with even a more pronounced abnormal curvature in the toe-box. I have a normal to slightly narrow straight foot with no need for additional room for bunion, other foot abnormalities, etc. So, having 2 finger worth of space on the sides, I, literally, tripped (while just walking around) several times within a 10 minuted period as a result of the design. Not good if you are an avid athlete and personal trainer. Returned them immediately.

Comments about PureDrift:
I ordered according to the size chart and when I got the shoe I felt like I needed a half size bigger but no big deal, I have returned the pair and am ordering a new pair. Despite the fact they were a little small they felt GREAT.. and people are really exaggerating the toe box.
They do not look like clown shoes, swim fins nor did I feel like a "hairless hobbit". I just felt the need to mention that because it was almost a deterent for me to not buy these at all.

Comments about PureDrift:
I was running in the original Cadence, but decided to buy these instead due to all the negative reviews of the Cadence 2.
I would love them more than the original Cadence, but I need a little bit of arch support.
If Brooks would just bring back the original Cadence all would be perfect again! PLEASE BRING BACK THE ORIGINAL CADENCE!

Comments about PureDrift:
There's no doubt that Brooks produces the highest quality running shoes. I love all my Brooks shoes and was excited for these. I ordered half a size down and I think the size was right, however the shoe is way too wide and boxy and left a strange baggy look in the toe area. Otherwise appears to be a super comfortable shoe. For someone with wider feet this may be the perfect she for you, I'll just have to try a different pair.

Comments about PureDrift:
These shoes are super light and super wide in the toe box. If you have fat feet and find other shoes to be too narrow, then you should totally give these a shot. I suppose if you have normal width feet, the size of the toe box could be a problem. Also, since there's a 4mm drop, definitely give your calves time to adjust - it took me a few months when I first started wearing a minimalist shoe to get used to it.

Comments about PureDrift:
These shoes finally came in the mail today after I had to send back a pair of PureConnects due to a way too tight fit. I love these shoes! The toe box gives me plenty of room for my toes to stretch out, and although they felt a tiny bit too big just walking around, they felt great while running-- cushiony, light, and fast around corners. My most recent pair of running shoes from another company gave me a deep bruise on the end of my toe from too narrow of a toe box, but my feet feel so much happier with these. I would definitely recommend the PureDrift if you feel like you could use a little extra room in the toe area but like a comfortably snug fit across your midfoot and heel. Cannot recommend enough!

Comments about PureDrift:
I am a distance runner and race ~4 marathons a year. I love a non-bulky minimalist shoe for running and these, I love. I have been running in the Green Silence for years and these compare very well to those. I love the flexible, natural feel that doesn't modify my footstrike.

Comments about PureDrift:
I run 25-30 miles a week and over the last 3-4 years have transitioned to a far less controlling shoe. I ran Ariel for several years, but 3-4 years ago, I decided to experiment with something and since I have worked my way down to nearly barefoot. I have a pair of Vibram toe shoes that I used for a short time, and they are ok, But the Drift is outstanding! I like the added freedom of the toes compared to the Vibrams, and I think there is a little more protection from injury to the digits with the Drift.
If you are new to the minimalist running idea, work you way down over a couple of pairs of shoe in the Brooks Pure project shoes, this will allow your feet and legs to adapt to the minimal to zero lift of the Drift. Great shoes, fastest I've been in more than a decade... and to top it off they even look pretty good!
As for wear, they wear as advertised by Brooks, based on about 100 miles so far and having run several other pairs of Pure Project shoes, these are definitely wearing as advertised and I am confident that I will get the milage advertised by Brooks.
If you are or want to run minimalist, theses are a great shoe!

I'm in the gym cross-training 3 days per week. Love the lightweight and flexible shoes. These would also be good for pavement or a dry trail run as the traction on them not great. But I love them!

Comments about PureDrift:
Very comfortable shoe. It has worn great! Very lightweight, which is excellent for when you are running. They fit my "natural foot with medium to high- arch foot" great!
I love how the toes have plenty of room. If you like them to be more squished, you may not like this shoe. I love it!!!
