I never write reviews. Ever. But I had to share just how these shoes have changed my life. I have been a runner for years. But recently I was diagnosed with runner's knee. I took off for some time and when I attempted to return I hurt my knee so badly that I needed to take even more time off. I resigned myself to the elliptical, thinking id never again be a runner. Someone suggested brooks, so I gave them a try. I've run 3 times now without any knee pain at all! I'm a brooks fan for life!

I've loved my Pure Connect (originals). I was excited to see these in the new colors. The colors are great and this is a really, really great looking shoe. I was so sad when I tried them on and my toes hit the front of the shoe. I ordered the same size I'd been wearing in the PC1. The shape of the toe box has changed and there's something about the way the toe is angled that doesn't work for me with these. Maybe I have long toes?? I found a retailer and tried a 1/2 size up, but then the shoe was too large. Ended up purchasing another pair of the "old" Pure Connect. I'm so sad that I'm going to have to find a new favorite running shoe.

After ONLY 2 months of wearing 1-2 times per week at light duty, 3 of the bottom pads fell off. Brooks is sending another pair but I will still be buying a new pair of shoes in 2 months because they designed them that way. Here is Brooks' response to my complaint.....

Thank you for contacting Brooks Sports. We have sent you a one time replacement pair of shoes. Please allow 5-7 business days for your new shoes to arrive. All of our shoes are designed to be used specifically for running and walking. The Pure Connect 2 is a minimal running shoe made with fewer and lighter weight materials. When used for its intended purpose these shoes will have a life expectancy of 250-300 miles or 2-4 months.

I first started with the original PureConnects which I won at a race expo. I had been wanting to try a more minimal shoe and these just happened to be the perfect fit. I have had arch issues as well as shin splints and a bit of knee pain in many stability shoes and so was a bit hesitant about trying any kind of minimalist shoe. The original pure connects were great, but I have to admit I LOVE the new ones. Not only are they less tight on my foot, but they feel better over my whole foot. It doesn't feel like I have anything on, yet they provide enough support for my arch so that I have not experienced any pain while wearing them. I would definitely recommend them to anyone, especially those who are hesitant about trying a lighter weight shoe. Great job Brooks!

They looked and felt super comfortable walking in them all day. It was like walking on marshmallows...until I started running. It was the most painful run ever. I stuck it out for two miles, but so did the pain in the toe box, arch, and heel. I put 400 miles on a pair of Brooks Adrenaline (loved them!) and ordered the pure connect in the same size. I'm hopeful that a half size up might work. Note: I have a very wide and flat foot.

These shoes were to wide, but narrow in in toe area. May be its just me. I have always loved Brook Shoes and very disappointed in the new Pure Connect 2. I do miss the first Pure Connect, they were awesome!

These shoes are NOT for women with high arches. I have been out for three weeks with Plantar Fasciitis after running in the Pure Connect for two months. Great shoe, but NOT GOOD FOR HIGH ARCHES!

I ran through a few pairs of the PureConnect 1 and I loved them. I loved how snug they were around my foot - it felt like wearing socks with soles. Unlike what many reviewers say, the first generation fit fine when I wore my normal shoe size (snug, but in a good way). So when the next generation came out I went ahead and bought them in my normal size, but unfortunately it seems like they changed something about the shape so my 2nd and 3rd toes bumped up against the front of the shoe. I exchanged them for a 1/2 size up, but those feel slightly too large, especially for my (slightly smaller) right foot. I can still run in them, but they don't have that snug feel that I loved so much with the first generation - there's a lot more wiggle room in the toe area. Once I run through this pair I probably won't purchase this generation again.
