This hat eliminates excuses (you know, like darkness and rain) to miss a run. The ultimate running partner for nighttime and wet-weather runs, it features water-resistant, high-visibility fabric and 360 degrees of retroreflectivity. The cherry on top (or on back): A flashing rear L.E.D. light.

• Adjustable hook-and-loop backstrap
Washing Instructions:
• Remove the L.E.D. before washing: Lift off the red lens, being careful to not dislodge the small rubber plunger that activates the on/off switch.
• With a pointed object, remove the circuit board.
• Hand wash with mild soap and warm water. Hang to dry.
• Be sure that the black plastic casing is dry before replacing the circuit board.
• Replace the circuit board and red lens. The small rubber plunger must be securely housed in the center of the red lens to assure proper activation.
Replacing the battery:
• Gently lift off the red lens, being careful to not dislodge the small rubber plunger that activates the on/off switch.
• With a pointed object, gently remove the circuit board. Two small LR41 watch batteries are housed on the back of the circuit board.
• Slide each battery out of the holster towards the outside edge of the circuit board.
• Slide in the new LR41 batteries, positive side up.
• Replace the circuit board, making sure that it lies flat. Gently slide red lens with plunger back into the black plastic casing.
• The flashing light on your NightLife Cap will work for approximately 200 hours before requiring battery replacement. Proper care will ensure the longest possible life.

The Nightlife hat is ideal for that early morning, late evening or night run. I’ve own this hat since 2007 and by far it is may favorite hat to wear when the temperature is below 60F, visibility is low, and the weather might be raining, sleeting or snowing. Moisture just beads up and roll of the hat. The bill does not become saturated with moisture. The hat keeps my head dry and my eye free of rain or snow, so I can see the roads better. In addition, it is easier for drivers to see me. When it is below freezing, I will wear this hat with the Nightlife headband to keep my ears and head warm. This combination has kept my head warm in -10F weather.
I would not recommend this had for warmer weather. It does not breathe as well as the HVAC mesh cap. The problem I’ve had in warmer weather is the build-up of salt deposits on the top of the hat. The salt build up is very evident on the black side panels of the hat. Good thing it rinses off easily under tap water.

Loved the hat; thought it was a great idea so I bought it. Within 50 feet of running in it, I realized that a man must have designed it. I ALWAYS wear my hair in a ponytail and bring it through the hole of the hat. This covers the light up immediately. I still wear it because of the color but I wish they had put the blinky on top of the hole instead of on the sizing area.

I like this hat. I know it has been knocked about the light and how it is difficult to deal with when washing the hat and lack of longevity but light or no light I like that it glows practically in the dark, very fun, and the fit was great. Yes the light is a bit difficult maneuver once you have the hat on but if I want to turn it on I just do it before putting on the hat. Also, regarding the wash, handwashing it with a brush will work instead of submurging it in water or putting it in the machine. Overall great hat.

I bought this hat to increase my visibility while running after having been hit by a car a few years ago. The bright color is great! The light on the back is totally useless for women with hair as it is covered up by my ponytail/bun. Also, it is a pain to wash the hat due to the light. This hat retains heat more than my other running hats; best for fall/spring, but not summer.

I bought this on sale (good deal) and was really just looking for a reflective hat. I read the neg. reviews about the light feature and didn't really mind since I thought at worst I would cut the light off. The hat is great and has a nice long brim. I will get a mesh one for summer. This one works well for the cooler fall temps when it gets darker earlier. The light is working fine for me now but it's hard to turn on and off as other reviews have stated. When I wash it I will remove it so maybe I will get longer usage than others.

Great if you ride a bike or run at dusk or night. Also good for early morning running. You can see the hat coming from a distance, due to the bright yellow color. The light on the back is brighter than the expensive bike light I have on my bike. People can see you coming and going. Even better than wearing a bright vest or shirt.

Hat feels great on my head, very comfortable. Highly reflective, so it's good for use at night. The light stopped working almost as soon as I took it home. It will blink as long as the switch is being pressed, turns of when released. Changed the batteries (not cheap) and that didn't help. The positioning of the light below the pony tail hole is unfortunate. Probably doesn't make a whole lot of difference that the light doesn't work.
