Mach 11 is my favorite minimalist running shoe so I bought Mach 13 and 14 to stock up .... only to a huge surprise and disappointment. I didn't realize that a shoe company can switch sizing and width by that match. In an effort to achieve certain weight?

I was looking for something super-lightweight that I could take out for some short trail runs.
I do a lot of long trail runs, and unless you are a die-hard "minimalist," I'd suggest the Grit or Cascadia on the longer stuff. But these are definitely a lot of fun for short speed workouts on the trails.

I bought a pair of these in the old colors last spring to see how they would handle the miles. I have worn them for runs of up to 21 miles on the road, but would not normally wear them that far. They are great on the trail, grass, even on gravel, if you are careful. They are very light and comfortable on my feet, so I wear them in my classroom also when I am teaching. They are comfortable in the summer, but also warm enough for winter running. I especially appreciate that they are inexpensive and very simple...just like CC shoes I wore in HS.
