Used this for a 50 degree marathon in the rain (pouring rain). Helped to keep my core warm and nice to have extra pockets however I did feel the zipper pull strings were a little too long. It makes it easier to open the pocket but there was no place to tuck the extra length so they flop around on both sides. Seems trivial but when you're running in something for 26.2 miles, those little things can become big annoyances. Otherwise, the vest is great for cool, rainy running. Large arm openings to reduce chafing. Smaller in the bust area if you happen to have a large bust.
All in all, a great running vest!

I bought this vest from a store and as soon as I got home I noticed the zipper on the pocket was stuck. The zipper wasn't sewn on properly and it kept falling off the track. When I went to exchange it, the other vests all had loose threads or poorly sewn on zippers as well. I really like this vest and wanted to use it for running and cycling, but I ended up returning it. The fit was a bit off also, the small was tight across the chest and loose at the waist. I have broad shoulder and it felt a bit snug.

Comments about Essential Run Vest:
Perfect for me because our weather is seldom cold enough for more than a vest with a long sleeve. Love the vest so much more than a jacket!

Comments about Essential Run Vest:
I love how bright and visible this vest is! The small is perfect fit (I am 5'4", 115, 34D). I wear this with a Brooks Equilibrium tank and a mid-layer with long sleeves during my fall/winter runs in San Francisco. Once I warm up, I just throw the mid-layer around my waist and run with just the tank and vest. I bought this because I've had a few close calls with cars who don't see me so I have become very safety conscious when running.

Comments about Essential Run Vest:
This vest is just perfect for damp, windy days when a jacket would be too hot. It has a lot of bells and whistles - lots of ventilation flaps, cinchers, decorative trim, and an array of pockets. The bright yellow is great for running on the road. And the length and styling are actually flattering. I can think of some improvements, but at this price they may not be realistic. (1) Brooks should put two-way zippers on all its women's gear. Sometimes zipping from the bottom is a better option for cooling off...(2) When zipped down, the neck flops around. Going with a slightly longer neck (that forms a collar) or adding snap-downs would make this thing perfect.

Comments about Essential Run Vest:
Overall, I am happy with this vest. I am 5'8, 130lbs and got a medium. It fits great in the armholes and chest, but the waist area flares out a bit and is very wide. I would have liked it to be a bit more fitting. If I got the small though, I think the chest would be too tight.
I've been wearing it on my morning runs, with 1-2 layers underneath. It's been in the 20s here, and I am kept very warm!

I love using this for runs between 30 and 50 degree or when it's raining. It gives an extra layer without feeling bulky. I even bought one for my mom!

Comments about Essential Run Vest:
I am a Michigan runner and needed something for the 30-50 degree damp fall days. I like to be warm, and always get cold easy. When I saw how lightweight this was I was pretty doubtful. But it is SO nice and warm! Just this vest and a tech-t underneath and I've been fine as low as 38 degrees. It allows free movement of your arms, and you dont get that weighed down feeling from wearing a ton of layers. Sizing seemed about right; I am borderline XS/S and went with the S for room to wear stuff under it. It's pretty darn visible at night but I wouldn't mind a few more reflective bits on the back of it.

Comments about Essential Run Vest:
I use this for running and walking the dog when it over 50 near Seattle. Very light and soft material, and the collar is very comfortable (nice soft lining, not too tall). This is the perfect addition for a LS shirt on a cooler day or evening - extra visibility (I have the neon yellow), warm back and neck. Moderate protection from wind too!
