I purchased these shorts and the comparable New Balance shorts at the same time online without trying either on. I can say with out hesitation that these are superb. I'm 6'2" 185 (I'm lanky, sue me) and the mediums fit great. Good for a 32"-34" waist and hits mid-low thy. I'm a member of AFSOC and I workout hard 6 days a week and these are perfect. Long runs or dead lifts these are great. If you're thinking about these or the New Balance pair get these. The New Balance pair is really thick and fits like a basketball short with the medium hanging down around my knees and again I'm 6'2". I plan on getting a few more pairs because it's a pain doing laundry every night do I can wear these shorts. Get em!

I'm used to running in 5" Brooks and my wife picked up this 2 in 1 for my birthday. Had high hopes for it, but unfortunatly the shorts inner didn't provide enough control which made for a very distracting first run. They might be good for light workouts but won't work for me for running.

the shorts could be about 3/4 of an inch longer and then the back section seems to hang off my butt, i have to have the shorts really tight to stay above my butt all my other brooks shorts have not given me this problem.

I hike/run with the 2-in-1 shorts for 1-2 hrs. per day, several days a week. The shorts are really comfortable and creative, offering the advantage of running tights without putting on a public exhibition.

I wear a Medium in everything else (31" waist), but these shorts in Small fit me perfectly.
The length is perfect for running -- not 80's too short, not 2000's too long. I wouldn't wear them to the gym, but they are great for running.

New to running and ran 1st 10K in gym shorts, ouch. Not a fan of the short shorts and had to try this one out. It was awesome, went out for a six mile run and worked like a charm. Too bad winter is setting in, but good time to stock up on the rest of the colors.
