I have a wide foot with low arches. I am neutral in one foot and a mild over-pronator in the other. I use shoes around the yard and for casual wear. Most shoes either have too much pressure on my arches or motion control that forces me into an awkward stride. The Dyad 5 did not have these problems for me. It fit me perfectly in the toe box, forefoot, and heel. My problem with it is my instep which is wide for my size. What I think is a support post dug into my instep as I walked. I have had this problem with some other shoes I have tried. Regrettably, I had to return these shoes which were excellent in all other aspects.

Comments about Dyad 5:
I thought I would "upgrade" to the Glycerin, it's not an upgrade for me. I'm a big guy (5'11" 230lbs) and I can run, so needless to say I punish my running shoes. I liked the description of the adaptable cushioning in the Glycerin so I went for it. It's not even the same league. My old worn out Dyads feel better. I'm going back and I don't think I can ever say enough about the Dyad. I think the midsole support pads have an impact but overall the cushioning is absolutely the best. If you're a Clydesdale runner and you want to feel like your not absorbing every pound of impact into your joints give the Dyad a shot you will not regret it.

Comments about Dyad 5:
I have always been a New Balance person, but after visiting a physical therapist for back issues, I was informed I needed a different type of shoe for REALLY flat feet, and possibly custom orthodics. I went to a high end running shoe store, and they fit me in Brooks Dyad 5...I had NEVER heard of Brooks before!!! The minute I put them on I could feel the difference!!! Very comfortable, and I can run again without incident. My only real complaint is they kind of wore out a little too quickly (in my opionion). Traction in wet weather isn't terrific if you are running off pavement (I do a good bit of trail running). Pavement running is fine.

Comments about Dyad 5:
Im a Highschool runner from Kodiak island, Alaska. I bought two pairs of the Dyad 5's when i lived in virginia, and brought them up here with me when i moved. I had very few problems with the shoes besides a lack of traction while running on some of the hardcore muddy trails we have. I retired my dyads (after putting way too many miles on them). I bought a pair of new balance 883's, and they were too big and gave me massive shin splints for months. After thinking for a while about how i never remembered getting any pain from my old dyads, I finally decided to try out another new pair, and im basically in heaven. I havent had hardly any shin splints since. I would highly recommend them to anyone, especially flat footed runners who don't need pronation control.

Comments about Dyad 5:
I tried these shoes out because a podiatrist recommended them. Big mistake for me. The pod things feel like a couple of big stones that poke into your feet. They also are so thick and clunky that it feels like running in built up clown shoes.
They obviously work for some people but if you're not one of them this shoe could cause serious injury.

Comments about Dyad 5:
While the Dyad 5 isn't quite as nimble as some other shoes I've tried, they're the ONLY ones that have lasted past 300 miles (currently 500 miles) and have cured all my injury issues. I've had problems with my knees, IT band, hips, outside foot, and a bunch more but NO INJURIES since switching to the Dyad. They also are soooo easy to break in. I bought a new pair last week, ran a 2 miler warm up and then used my new ones in the Flying Pig Marathon - problem free!
My old Asics and Addidas just haven't been able to compare, no matter how much I loved the look of them. Brooks don't look "flashy" or very fashionable in my opinion, but bottom line is they work great and let me keep running injury-free!
