I am coming back to traditional running shoes after an experiment with minimalist running. I went through a phase of running in very thin, barely there shoes. This worked great on sidewalks, then I moved to an area with a chip trail. First couple of runs on the trail and I knew the minimal shoes wouldn't cut it. So I went to try out the latest an greatest. It came down to these and a pair of Nikes. I've had bad experiences with Nikes in the past, and I had never tried Brooks, so I figured what the heck.
I like these shoes. I've had 4-5 runs in them now, and they do what I want them to. Cushion. That's all I really ask of them. They are a little heavier than I like, a little hotter than I like, and maybe a little too squishy, but I like them anyway. Not the fastest ride ever. The biggest problem is the color. Please make future versions with something other than white soles. These things get dirty quick. If that's the worst thing...then they aren't too bad.
I've worn lots of different shoes. These are equivalent to or better than most. The build quality is excellent and the fit is good. I can certainly see myself buying another pair.

Comments about Defyance 3:
An active retired 'former' Avid Athlete past 70 who is getting back his fitness after several years of "not having enough time to stay fit". This shoe and its predecessor, Ghost, are helping making it happen.

Comments about Defyance 3:
Product suggested by fitness store after running analysis for problem knee/hip. Almost had to give up running but the analysis was I had wrong shoes. Stride required neutral and I had picked shoes for style and color, not function. These neutral shoes allowed me to keep going.

Comments about Defyance 3:
I love the shoe. Used to wear the Adrenaline but fount that my body doesn't like the stiffness of the support shoe. These are the perfect combination of soft, cushion and form-fit that I liked in the Adrenaline without the stability. Its fairly light to me also.
Great shoe for multi-surface. I run roads and trails and the shoe lasts many miles and keeps the softness.

Great shoes at first. I run about 40 miles a week and after a month and a half the soles looked fine but the cushioning was gone.. my feet started hurting badly

Comments about Defyance 3:
I've worn this shoe since the first version. I've had three pairs of the third version alone. I wear it with my custom orthotics and it give me enough support and cushioning so my legs can handle upwards of 70 miles/week on pavement. Fit feels great both length wise and tightness around the arch. If you wear orthotics, this is definitely a shoe to look at. Colors are great too.

i loved the radius then you stop making it,i went to defyance 2 after all the radius were gone.it was good but not as good as a radius.then you get rid of defyance2.thereis something different with the defyance three, the cusion is not as good and they wear quick.i understand the whole green thing but i am more concerned with my knees and shins then how quick they break down in the landfill.the old styles were always sold out,so why keep changing.mogo is no go.
