Neutral to Guidance runners can experience a run for the senses without losing the comfort of dynamic cushioning. The PureFlow brings a little more shoe and a whole lot of technology to a slick aesthetic. With a wider Nav Band coming up the lateral side and grabbing the midsole, the foot receives arch support without the bulkiness of underfoot materials. A center strike pod provides guidance in finding the natural landing zone, and modern air mesh wraps the foot for an incredibly comfortable fit.
Runner's World named the PureFlow its "Best Buy" in the Spring Shoe Guide in their March 2012 issue, calling it "a lightweight yet durable shoe that's a steal at its price point" and adding that 80 percent of their testers with normal arches and efficient biomechanics "gave the flow their highest-possible performance rating."
Just like our core line, we hold PureProject to the industry’s highest weartest and durability standards. Because of their lightweight construction and fewer materials, runners should generally expect shoes from the PureProject line to last approximately 250-300 miles.

This is an update to my earlier review. I really, really like this shoe, but there is one spot where the shoe rubs. The overlay that runs over the toes meets an overlay that comes down from the laces and they overlap right over my outer toe, the one next to the pinky. At first I thought it was the toe seam of my sock, but I was wearing seamless socks. I tried lacing them differently (skipping a crossover nearest the toes) and that helps some. If the two overlays were one continuous piece (instead of overlapping), I think that would solve the problem.
Love the new colors! And I like the "lumpy" laces -- feel like they will stay tied forever.

I am 5'2", 120 lbs, high arches with slight underpronation. I train about 15-20 miles per week on a combo of treadmill and sidewalk. My usual running shoe is the Ravenna, which I love, but can't get anymore because of the updates (Ravenna 2). I read about this shoe in Runner's World and then based on a chat with a Brooks employee, decided to give these a try.
They are extremely lightweight and I found the shoe itself to be pretty comfortable. Somehow they simulataneously felt like they were barely there yet also were providing cushion and support. Initially the elastic band around the arch felt strange to me, but I got used to it.
After a few short (less than 5 mile) runs, I took them out for a 10 miler and ran into problems. It became obvious when I got tired near the end of the run that the shoe wasn't stabilizing my left foot at all (I have a weak ankle). I was running on a cobblestone sidewalk and my ankle was just caving in all over the place. I was also getting real pain in my ankle and arch. The final straw was that the toes of my right foot were rubbed raw against the toebox.
I really wanted to love these because at first they felt so lightweight yet cushioned. But I just can't keep them because of the lack of stability. Guess I'll try my luck with Ravenna 2.

I'm 5'4" 120 lbs. and run or cross-train a few times a week. These shoes are incredibly comfortable---feels like you're walking on gym mats. The fit is a little wide, but I do have narrow feet. I use them for running on gravel, pavement, and sand. I wouldn't use them for trail running or another rough or unpredictable surface.

These are GREAT Tai Chi shoes! The sole is level and broad for one legged stability. I need arch support so I use my orthtics in them. Being lightweight is also a plus for this activity. I liked the shoes so much for Tai Chi, that I decided to buy a second pair just for everyday wear. It's like walking on a cloud, they are extremely comfortable. These shoes are going with me to Peru for long days of sightseeing.

I love Brooks PureFlows. This is my 3rd pair. They last me about 3 months or 400 miles, but they could probably could be worn a little longer. I especially love the raspberry pink colored ones, but have not found them much in stores. That's okay because it's so convenient to order online. My PureFlows have taken me through many months of training and through my first marathon (which was 4 hrs. in the rain). Brooks Cascadia 7s will take me through my next marathon this weekend, which is a trail run up a mountain!

I bought these shoes from [@], I was wanting a shoe with more cushion. I read about Brooks before I went to the store, when I tried this shoe on, I bought them immediately. Today, I found myself browsing brooksrunning.com and found the Shoe Tool, after answering the five general questions, this was the shoe that came back for me! Looks like it was even more meant to be. Go get you a pair!!

Ran 4 marathons in these shoes--not the same pair-- and nothing hurt.
I've managed to cope with the tongue sliding to one side by buying "tongue traps."
A pair of them only costs about 4$ and won't wear out any time soon. Love the shoe! They are lightweight with enough cushioning for distance runners.

This is my second pair of Brooks and they just keep getting better. My first pair I had for 2 years and I wore the tread off. I use these shoes for mainly walking. I walk about 4 miles daily. They have great cushion and support. I wasn't so sure at first but I LOVE these shoes.

Update from my review a couple weeks earlier. After first run thought shoe was too narrow in forefoot. I took my orthotics out and compared them to the insert that comes with shoe. They are wider. They fit my Nikes and Salomons so this shoe must be narrower. However, I ran without them the next day and shoe (and feet) felt fine. I like the cushioning better than the Nike Free Run 2. I wish the tongue didn't slide around, would be nice if it was integrated to the upper. Also, can't figure out what that elastic band on top of forefoot is for. It bunches all up underneath the laces. Other than these minor tweaks, this is the most comfortable lightweight well cushioned shoe I've run in in a long time. Well done Brooks:)

This was the first Brooks shoe that I ever purchased. Since Brooks was a well-known shoe in the running industry, I didn't think it would disappoint, but it did.
Ever since I started running in them, my feet have hurt every single day. It's not a pain where the shoe is tight or rubbing - its a pain throughout my entire foot. My heal. My arch.
My very first run my feet were in such pain the next morning; however, I continued to use them for 3 more weeks to see if things would improve and they didn't. I am returning them ASAP!
